Movie, TV, Books Discussion Thread

If you guys know me (well, if you're in the union, you probably do), you know that I like movies a hell of a lot and I like to express my, oh so moderate, opinions on them. I also am a fan of a few fine TV shows and a few fine books. So expect discussion there of.

So I will start the proceedings, the day before yesterday I watched 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' (which was exceptional) and finished LOST.

I started reading the Hunger Games. It'll be an easy read, and I'm liking it so far.

And it's been a long time since I last watched a movie. Which is quite sad. I think it was Ghostworld.

I do, actually! I used to watch that show and was impressed with all the things he did.

Anyways, a few days ago I saw Hugo, that was real good, and I've been watching Person of Interest Lately.

Reading: The Hunger Games

Watching: Nothing right now, but I did see The latest Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which was amazing!

I have nothing else to discuss.

I love that version to, but the English version is better imo.

The David Fincher version is far too American. He also left out all the ideological nature of the film.

I was writing a comparison between both films which I intended to post as a blog, I wrote a whole bunch of words. But then I never finished it :P

I want to see The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, but I find the name offputting.

I watched Ping Pong Playa for some unexplainable reason. I can't reccomend it unless you're a fan of low budget Asian family movies.

Well, the original Swedish name is 'Men who Hate Women'. Does that entice you more?

I've seen the Swedish film, and the rubbish sequel (and have the third rented on DVD to watch, but my boredom with the 2nd has put me off), I liked the original, but you can tell it was made for TV and I don't love it. I like it a lot though.

I just watched the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Not my favourite of Gilliam's, but at it's best it was fantastic.

12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and most of Brazil, but not the ending. 

My three favourites.

Parnassus is most like Baron Munchausen (which is fantastic), check out both. I think Munchausen may be slightly better.

I would have liked it more if I understood it, and that guy wasn't a bad guy. It was pretty eye-pleasing though.

I want to watch Time Bandits though, it has a rad name :Pnintendo_warrio

One of the weakest. Still good though.
