You'll see the crew filming on the ice, a tour of the area by props master "Evil" Kenny Gibbs, and even go inside Amanda Tapping's "hooch"GateworldSource
My Blu Ray was just slammed down on my desk by the receptionist at my office (she's sick of delivering my Amazon purchases, I think); we'll probably hold off til the weekend to watch it, though. Edit: Wow, they know how to upsell their bonus features [QUOTE="Gateworld"]You'll see the crew filming on the ice, a tour of the area by props master "Evil" Kenny Gibbs, and even go inside Amanda Tapping's "hooch"xaosSource
Amazon is great. Definitely wouldn't have stuff sent to work though. Think that's a big no-no where I work.
I was going to say, I can watch the crew filming on the ice just by watching the movie, but I guess that would be considered the cast, not the crew. And what area is he giving a tour of, the Arctic Circle? I can see how that would go. "Here's some snow, there's some snow, and if you look over there you can see some ice and the camera guy who froze to death."
I'm afraid to look up what kind of "hooch" they could be talking about, but I gotta know so I'll definitely be watching that last bit. My guess is the living quarters they used in the Arctic Circle, but I could be wrong. Definitely a good upsell like you say though.
Edit: I just checked the tracking information and it says it's been delivered. I was supposed to leave work half an hour ago, but I can't get off this stupid teleconference!!!!! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I actually bought it at Walmart the morning it came out,. I've watched it 3 times so far.. This is one of the GREATEST MOVIES I'VE EVER SEEN!!! I is seriously #2 on my top 10 list of favorite movies. This movie is great and is meant for anyone who has enjoyed anything that's sci-fi, even once... Definitly should have came to theaters, it's that good you must watch it.
See my profile for my review of the movie.
Excellent movie. It was all a little bit predictable as this wasn't the first instance where they've gone back in time. I mean, you knew what was going to happen, just not the how. But the story telling, the acting, the directing, visual effects, everything just made this an amazing movie and it wrapped things up quite nicely.
I'm ready for the next movie. :)
I have the movie now, but I probably won't watch it until the weekend. I still haven't watched last week's episode of Stargate Atlantis yet, so needless to say I'm kinda busy.:x
I thought it was excellent. It brought up alot of good episode memories. =-)Flamecommando
Definitely. That's what one of the producers said in the extras. They were pulling bits of plot from all the different seasons and it just wrapped everything up nicely.
This was a fantastic movie. Yes slightly predictable, b/c we have seen them go back in time before. But great fun to watch. And seeing various people die was still sad even though you knew the timeline would be corrected. Enough laughs and some great camera work and scenery.mgmeekI agree 100%. It was a bit predictable, but it was very entertaining nonetheless. When some of the biggest characters were getting killed off I also felt sad for them and it was great to see a lot of the old guys make a return. If you ask me this movie was a lot better than The Ark of Truth.
Continuum DVD sales start strong
Stargate: Continuum narrowly missed the top spot on the U.S. DVD sales charts last week, launching at number two. But it did take first place in Blu-ray sales for the week of July 28.
The new SG-1 direct-to-DVD movie was beat only by the movie Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay -- by fewer than 200 units, according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert, The Hollywood Reporter said. VideoScan is not a perfect measuring tool, as Wal-Mart (the nations number one DVD retailer) and Sam's Club do not report to the tracking service.
The movies 21, Never Back Down, and Doomsday rounded out the top five.
Data on just how many units this accounts for is not yet available. But the opening is clearly very strong, and bodes well for future direct-to-DVD projects for the Stargate franchise.

Nothing that deluxe, but our Samsung LN52A750 was delivered last Friday; upon hooking it up, we were blown away by the difference in viewing Blu-Ray to the old rear projection. We watched Continuum and also picked up on Season 1 of Mad Men which we had been watching, and both were spectacularly better looking on the new TV (and the games, oh the games :) ) Alas, we're in a basement apartment with our landlords living right above us, so we've held off on a super rad sound system for now, but one of these days...Nothing that deluxe, but our Samsung LN52A750 was delivered last Friday; upon hooking it up, we were blown away by the difference in viewing Blu-Ray to the old rear projection. Have no fear shock, I am fluent in french, if the need ever arises I can help you out :) :P
EDIT: ...That being said... Continuum easily ranks among the best SG-1 stories ever. Fantastic movie, a MILLION times better than Ark of Truth.
