Power Up Battle #2: Fire Flower vs. Boomerang Flower

Power Up Battle #2

Fire Flower- The Fire Flower has appeared in most of Mario's main adventures. Getting it allows Mario to grow tall and throw fire balls out of his hands.

Bommerang Flower - The Boomerang Flower has appeared in Super Mario 3D Land. Getting it allows Mario to don a Boomerang Brother esque costume, and throw boomerangs.

Going 2 go with the boomerang. The boomerang was such a useful powerup, especially for those hard to reach star coins in super mario 3d land. I also found it to be a more reliable weapon. 

While the fire flower is the older powerup, its only really used when there isn't an alternative. i.e. in Super mario world I would always aim to have the cape feather and would fall back on fire flowers only if I had no other option (or if I was to lazy to go back to the donut plains to gather feathers xD).

I am surprised that the Fire Flower is losing! I am casting it as my vote because it is one of the most iconic things about the Super Mario series.Lost_M
