I feel like its too dark where it shouldn't be and too light where it should be dark.
I can kinda see what you might have been going for here though.
Also, if you can find some good ways to blend the focal into the background a bit more without losing the face that it is a focal point, that would definitely help alot too. I know there are some tutorials somehwere about blending the focal, so maybe check out a couple different $tyles and see what works for you?
Definitely consider what everyone has said too, and maybe try a re-work if you can, and then see where that gets you! :)
