This may sound weird for me to ask here, but what is one of your favorite Zelda clones?

Mine is Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on the PS2. It basically blends everything Zelda has with pure platforming.

A few others I like are Dragon Ball: Origins (only thing not Zelda about it was the fact that it was stage based, but in most ways relates to Zelda) and Star Fox Adventures (formerly Rare's Dinosaur Planet).

I'm sad I never got to try Sphinx.. I was going to get it when the GC was current, but I put money towards other games.. I've thought about getting it, but I haven't done more than that.. :P

But Starfox Adventures is definitely one of my favourites, and Okami is awesome as well. Will try Darksiders when PC version arrives.

I always enjoyed Mystical Ninja starring goemon quite a bit, it was like mario 64 with zelda elements thrown in, and this was even before ocarina of time had been released.

I hate to label it as such, as I feel it transcends the label, but Beyond Good and Evil is one of the greatest gaming experiences I have ever had. Consequently, it borrows a lot from the Zelda formula but does enough new and different to not be completely labelled a clone.

I have never played a game I'd call a Zelda clone, but I've heard Darksiders could qualify as one.

....same with God of War. I don't think most people here get exactly what makes a Zelda clone.

Darksiders is an excellent example, although it borderlines on rip off once and a while (it is a fantastic game though, especially as a Zelda fan)

None of these are Zelda clones, in fact most of them are highly original of their respective genres. Banjo Kazooie is a platformer for crying out loud.

Darksiders and 3D.Game Heroes are the only recent Zelda clones, though there are many older ones. My roomy and I have been trying to find a cheap copy for awhile now, since you can build your own character to play as (you can play as a shark or a tank or anything you can create) I plan on building Link and playing another LttP style top down Zelda game. Should be awesome.

if you really want a zelda clone then 3D dot game heroes is the way to go. I will mention that I think that Shadow of the Colossus is probably one of the most amazing games I have ever played and while it is in no way a clone it definitely reminded me of a few zelda elements. mainly the main character who is a dude with a horse, a bow, and a magic sword that goes around killing massive boss creatures :P

Starfox Adventures isn't a clone of Zelda? What? :? I know Banjo isn't and I know Batman isn't either. But Star Fox: Adventures isn't? I've played the game myself and I see how it's called a clone.

I'll admit that out of the three it's the closest to a Zelda game, but it's still a lot more linear than your traditional Zelda game, which made the difference for me. A traditional Zelda clone involves a large overworld with dungeons and bosses protecting certain goals throughout. Starfox does fullfill this to some extent; but calling it a zelda clone just doens't sit well with me =/ Can't offer a better reason than that. You could argue the opposite quite easily I'll admit.
