A Shrek game for the "V-Smile" has "borrowed music from the Legend of Zelda series, specifically music from Ocarina of Time. A clip of the game in action can be seen here.

It is a shame that another company decided to rip off one of the most illustrious series in gaming, although this isn't that rare of a occurrence.

Just another example of the cutthroat business that is gaming.:P

I know Zelda music is good, but stealing from one of the most popular videogame of all time wasn't really a smart move...

They are going to get sued for sure.

How dare they take our precious.

But in all seriousness, why were they so lazy that they had to steal music from Zelda? I mean it's good, but shouldn't you want something original for your game?

That's funny as hell. Seriously though, suing such a small developer would be a waste of time and money.

Just watch the video. It is kind of obvious that the effort put forth into the Shrek game was rather lackluster at best.:P

It would indeed seem as a waste on Nintendo's part to deal with this issue, considering the circumstances. However, it is still rather unfortunate.

man, that's just despicable. I mean, sheesh, all they would do is ruin OoT's music! :(

P.S. I kinda went WTFat first when I saw a topic starting with Shrek in a Zelda union. :P

I had some trouble hearing, too. But I believe I heard the music you'd hear from the bombchu bowling and shooting gallery places.

I did watch the video, the system itself disgusts me. The game just brought it to a whole nother level.

The music featured in the video was the general house theme and the Kokiri Forest theme. It is a shame really, sullying such great music with such a game.

V-Smile

To think, this is designed for children.

More like government propaganda to turn kids off from video games...

Honestly, I still don't know what the big deal is. So the music was in a game no one will remember in about 3 more months, there is no reason to get all up in arms. Now, if the Zelda music ended up in a Square Enix title (legally or otherwise), then I would be pissed.

It's copyright infringement. Like SSCyborg said: They took our precious :o

It doesn't matter who does it or how popular the product is, it's still theft. I don't mind Zelda music in other games, as long as they don't claim it as their own and give credit to Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda.

So, do the developers of the Shrek game give nod in the credits? I do not know the answer to that. I would be wary to believe you do.

I doubt Pixar was overly involved in the proceedings.

... Wait, was Pixar even responsible for Shrek?

My knowledge of movies is quite limited at times.

Your suspicions are correct, Gary. Pixar was NOT involved with Shrek at all. The correct answer is: Dreamworks! But, thanks for playing anyway. Still, Gary is correct twice in that Dreamworks was no likely to be involved with the game any more than character licencing.

How bad this is depens on how the music will be used in the game. The movies are all about rip-offs from other films (like the ring in the secound movie that is just like in lotr), so I guess if there is a good reason why Zelda music is in Shrek, it wouldnt hurt much.
