Sony should thank the hell out of MS now.
Thanks to MS' conference today, alot of Xbox gamers are gonna get the PS4, according to the forums I've read today.
Don't rule out the pull of the third party consoles like the Wii U and Steambox yet.
Though agreed, that reveal for the One was a disgrace.
Oh, and incidentally have been enjoying some Persona 3 Portable thanks tto a friend/flatmate's bf. It's rather fun.
What's interesting is that after MS's very underwhelming presentation, Sony's stock price went up nearly 10%, while MS's went down. What I fear for MS, is that since both the PS4 and X1 are systems that require owners' to "start over," since nothing from this generation really carries over to the new one, allowing for X360 fans to jump ship without losing their existing investment.
I'm sure some angry MS fans will calm down post E3, but I will not be suprised to see/hear MS fans plan on jumping ship entirely, or holding off on the X1 and making it a secondary system down the road to play exclusive franchises.
What I find funny is the fact that fans still supporting MS say "At least MS showed what the console looked like hurr hurr hurr"
I mean really? Sure MS, unveiled the console but what about GAMES? Sony showed off the features of the PS4 just like MS did with the One ( ), but Sony still showed plenty of games. They actually made us hype to see the console at E3 instead of having us think "well at least things can't get worse" like MS. If seeing the features and games of a console means I don't see the actual console, I'll take that any day.
I won't be surprised if MS did the conference like that on purpose - hold an event to talk about secondary features, and then use E3 to drop game after game after game.
It'll be an uphill battle since their first impression was bad, but I feel like they paid some publishers some good money to make some impressive E3 announcements.
For me, all Sony has to do is show off versus XIII and inFamous: Second Son and I'll melt in their hands.
Ah well, it'll be interesting to watch it develop.
And recently bought and started on Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut. I can see why some say it's awful, and they're probably right, yet I'm still somehow finding it very enjoyable. :P
So who watching E3?sfkm2
MEEEEEEEE!!
Well, at least as much as I can. I work Monday so I'll be missing MS and EA's conference, but I'll consider streaming those later. I'll shave getting home in time for ubisoft's and will definitely be watching Sony's conference.
Tuesday morning will be exciting too because of Square's "special Final Fantasy event" that may be discussing Verus XIII (or what may be XV)
The wife and I are interested in Far Cry 3, although she's still speculating on it because she normally doesn't like FPS but I personally would love to play it. It would be a pleasant distraction.
Oh we also picked up Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse and I gotta say that the scripted text is pretty amusing in many cases. :P
I'm really happy with Sony's Press Conference; I really feel like they took what people disliked about the PS3, and focused on addressing those concerns first and foremost.
The PS4 seems a lot more like the PS2 in terms of reception; now all Sony has to do is secure some more exclusives. I'm somewhat bummed that both FF XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 are going muli-plat.
Still the PS4 look the most promising going off their cheaper price tag, lack of silly restrictions etc.
Although Ubisoft's show intriguied me the most.
Also, I rather like Animal Crossing's Villager is in the next Super Smash Bros. :P
I still pick up the PS2 controller and play now and then. The Time Splitters series has always been a favorite as well as Star Wars Battlefront. Now that I think about it there are a ton of games I miss from the PS2 o.o
I actually tend to love the FPS games, simply because I like the way I play and it works well for me. Like in COD games. Haul @ss on the Path of Least Suspicion. :P

The Time Splitters series is one of my most fav series ever, and 2 is one of my fav games of all time, alongside the original Deus Ex and the original Rocket Knight Adventures :P
I wonder what it's like for a Microsoft employee going into work this week...
I'm sure a good percentage of people are tense and defensive about all the news articles and forums taking jabs at them. It doesn't help that their first conference a couple weeks ago was God awful.

But the media has very good reason to making jabs at them, so they've only got themselves to blame. Not the lower down employees that just work there, butt the higher ups certainly. :P
Here's a follow up then....did they do it because of the fan reaction, OR, was it because they felt Sony was on the right track based on Sony's fans reactions.....?
I'm sure there is a combination, but I'm curious to what people think, I can't believe the voices were heard. I commend M$ for doing that so freakin' soon after E3.

I don't really see a difference between the two, while the hardcore fans would have gotten an Xbox One regardless, they'd have ultimately lost out big time against Sony had they not reversed their decision, i.e. Sony was on the right track to keep it's following and gain profits, and the fan reaction was essentially just evidence of this.
I am surprised they did itt so soon though, I was expecting them to continue with it, and then release a different version in the future without the restrictions, or something along those lines. They kinda had to reverse it at some point really, the negative reaction to it was so great it would've been financial suicide if they didn't.
Whilst it is nice they have reversed this stance, I feel they have still overall lost credibility and respect for the fact they tried to get away with such things in the first place. As I've heard it put, the second hand book market is a surprisingly large market, but you never seem to hear of book publishers complaining that they're not getting money from second-hand sales.
