Yes. There are so many loading screens. Almost every transition has a loading screen. Before cutscenes, there's a loading screen, etc.

The have story from previous games, not the current game. And RE5's story is mostly told through the various journals/documents lying around.

Also, being able to talk over loading screens doesn't matter when you're playing single-player.

What about talking to yourself?

One can go on a journey of rediscovery of oneself during those loading screens.

I'm sorry, did you just say RE5 has a story? My point was that the background story in the loading screens has more worth than the one in the actual game.

Resident Evil 5 does not have a story that is worthy of note. It does have a story, yes, but it is a terrible one.

The best thing about God of War 3 is the gameplay and yes the story still works without having played the previous games. Games should have some element of self contained story, it is not a good story if it totally relies on things that come before because then it has no originality and is progressing nothing.

You will like Ico/SotC then.
