When are we going to see a new concept in gaming ?

The gaming industry has been saturated by tons of shooters which are basically a reskined CoD and their has'nt been any chance for a new theme or concept in gaming. We all have seen the war torn america, the epic space war and the wasteland a million times. What new things do you want to see in gaming ?

Gaming has hit the wall just as the Movie industry. That's why we are seeing all these movie remakes because there are no new ideas in Hollywood so the gaming industry is in the same situation. If the DMC reboot is successful look for the remake/reboot bug to hit gaming. That's why I'm not to excited for next-gen because all we are gonna get is better graphics and multimedia functions....which isn't a bad thing, but it's nothing truly innovating.

^I saw something similar to what you explained, it's a really cool simulation.

I think 3D was being pushed, and motion controllers appear to be dying out slowly. At one point it seemed as if motion controllers were becoming the new thing, but now they are just a different way to experience the games, and nothing revolution in my opinion.

I believe new ideas will come along, but I would guess it would be until after 2015 before we have a concept that everyone can enjoy.

We see new concepts all the time. Seriously.

Mainstream is the same in any medium, if you want new stuff play more indie games. 

I adore Braid.

Tim's story was finished, and there's absolutely nothing I want to see from the concept again. It was basically perfected.

Very excited for The Witness though. :D

Braid tells a perfect completely enclosed story, and it's innovation and uniqueness is what makes it so good. It couldn't be improved on in any reasonable way, and doing the same thing again would make for a less interesting game and would devalue the original.
