Is it better than skyrim?

Skyrim>Oblivion>Morrowind>Daggerfall>Arena

My opinion.

I like Daggerfall better than Morrowind/Oblivion but haven't played Skyrim so can't say on that one. I haven't played Arena either.

If Arena holds any interest to you you can legally get it for free.

Yep, that was how I played Daggerfall. Arena is on my harddrive, maybe I'll get to it eventually.

Morrowind/Oblivion bored me, I just don't like the combat. If the combat was better I think I could get into them. I did enjoy Fallout 3.

Same. I got a lot more mileage out of FO3 after modding though. I was considering returning to Oblivion at one point with mods to see if that helped maintain my interest.

One of the things that I find off putting about oblivion is the repair items feature. I know that it makes sense, but I just don't like having to have duplicates of an item in order to repair it. I felt the same way in Fallout 3 too (even though I did start to warm up to that idea over time).

You do not have to have duplicates in order to repair your gear in Oblivion; just using smithies or your own repair hammers.

Gears? Really? :?Kman5507
I love Gears man. The first one is a gaming classic. Second and third are great too, though I will admit that the third Gears has probably the most boring opening hours I've played in a big budget game this generation (I haven't played any AC games though).

I love their MPs too, though I haven't played any online MP on my 360 in a long time.

I guess we all like different things :?
I hated gears 2. It was kind of fun at first, but went downhill at an exponential rate... It just got disgusting after a while and it became way too repetetive for me. I gave up all hope in that game after the level after the one with the worm. How far was I from winning? :P

Aw man, the worm was awesome, and afterwards you got to the most atmospheric levels of the game. Gears 2 was definitely the most polarizing of the series. Plenty of Gears fans hate its campaign and its MP was just broken at launch.

I'd say you were pretty far from winning though. Luckily, it seems you quit before the real spot of repetition. There's this great part (well, IMO great, again, it's another arguable section) where you take a tank to reach the underground where the Locust are, except you spend the next three or four hours down there and the scenery becomes dull.

Still though, I'd recommend the first game to anyone, even non-TPS fans, for its absolutely fantastic atmosphere.

The series is one of the few bastions of split-screen gaming this generation. Shame it's going away in so many games. I was really disappointed when I couldn't play Forza Horizon in split-screen with my niece.

I did the tank part. I quit once I got to the cave .

I can't play the first one. The second was too traumatizing. :P

Yeah it's sort of a bygone era thing now it seems. I possibly would've played the series a bit more had PC versions kept coming but they cut'em off after the first.

I hate how they are taking away splitscreen in so many games. I remember when I was younger my brother used to make me play his nascar games with him. I used to pretend to be a bad driver and crash a lot, so he'd turn cautions off. Then I'd drive the wrong way and crash head on into every other car on the road

Split screen has been coming back though, thankfully. Borderlands 1/2, Dynasty Warriors/Warrior's Orochi, Far Cry 3, Need for Speed series, Sonic Racing, etc.

One of the worst offenders though lately is Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD. They removed split-screen and I'll never buy it because of that.

Oh yeah, Borederlands. It had split-screen. One of the only games I played where playing it with a friend didn't make it fun.

The best split-screen games I've played this gen are definitely Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2.

Might as well copy the best eh?

Gun Game was where you started off with a weak pistol and got a better weapon for each kill. I was horrible because the sniper always stalled me but it was really fun.

It's addicting and fun to try to get three stars, what else can I say.

Plus, Sniper Fi. Bless that glorious mission.
