Why do they region lock games?Kman5507

Playstation 3s are NOT region locked.

I import games, they work.

And it doesn't have any different languages? I was thinking it was possible to import a copy to other places, but I don't know if the PlayStation can play games from all over. I know the PS3 can.bugbag

^I'm not sure. I heard PS3 games are not region locked... But I have no idea about PS1 games.

If they aren't maybe that's the best course to take.

In this case it'd be easier to just emulate the game and still buy it if you're against piracy. I'm not sure if you could get the english patch to work on PS3 without it modding it anyway.

Makes since for other regions since they charge more for games I suppose. I'm not really sure why the region-lock consoles in the US. Maybe because it look bad I suppose and they might have people importing consoles then instead of games. 

PS3 games aren't locked (exceptions such as P4Arena exist). Physical PS1&2 games are still locked when used on a stock PS3 though. Exceed20XX
