That's right, these two amazing games.

999 is one of the finest stories written in any medium and easily the best you will ever find in a video game. Its true ending is just mind blowing. The characters are fantastically written thanks to the marvelous script. Ever line means something and every character always has something interesting to say.

There are six different endings all leading up the spectacular True Ending that will blow your mind

Don't just take my word for it

I'm currently playing the second game in the series, Virtue's Last Reward. It has 24 different endings, and while a few of them are lame, there are plenty of great ones. The story is still great, the characters mysterious, and the choices making completely different narratives pop up.

Don't have a handheld to play these on? Eh well, I guess I understa-

Wait, you don't have a DS, one of the best systems to ever grace this planet?

I have a DS... If I find it for a good price I'll definitely get it!

What is the story exactly?

Quickest summary? Nine people are stuck on a ship with bombs in their stomachs and need to escape within nine hours, otherwise the ship will sink. It's a fascinating set-up due to the amazing ending.

It's kinda like Saw meets Lost from what I udnerstand... Although it's not very gory...

Just play it already. 999  is mind blowing in every sense of the word. One of the few times it's actually used properly to describe something.

I sold my DS a few years ago in my great console/handheld purge. Sold my PS3, DS, PS2, GC, and all games to go with them. Bad move all around.

Aksys themselves are running a 20% off sale for Memorial Day. Not sure where their prices stack up to others though.

Unfortunately not, Google search says that they only have workarounds, namely not saving in the PEC room, and no actual patch. Luckily, I have the superior Vita version, but I really hope they get that glitch taken care of.

Aside from not having that bug I didn't find the Vita version necessarily more attractive. I didn't like the controls iirc.

I was going through a dark period in my life. I was spending too much time on system wars, becoming fanatical when it came to PC gaming lol.

I will eventually. I'm too busy right now, and probably won't have much gaming time until November or so. I'll still pick up a few new titles, but older games will have to wait.

999 is one game that you must put at the forefront.  First playthrough is less tahn ten hours, and subsequent playthroughs are even less.  When you;re finally ready for the True Ending you should be able to beat it in an hour or two.  It's not a hgue time investment, but you still get great value since it's so high quality.

Should be around twenty bucks on Amazon... If you don't care about the case and manual and stuff, you can also check eBay, not sure what the prices are like there.  Although it's new on Amazon, sealed and everything, so it's a good deal if you are into the whole "collecting" thing and if not there are probably cheaper options online.

I do like collecting stuff.:P

I don't know, it's a bit expensive.... I mean compared to other console games I want. I'll add it to my list and start looking for a cheap copy.

I don't really go to ebay though. I got ripped off a few times there.:P

That's the one I'm gunning for, hopefully the fan translation happens but if not people have already been haggling Xseed and Gaijinworks to give it consideration.

Well they have made a translation for it but it was just a demo sadly from what I heard, I did hear that they were going to release an anime of it this year.
