What do you THINK it is? Jesus

Anyway, I like the stories of LA Noire and Mafia II.. the setting really helps, absolutley love the 40s and 50s. I found the characters pretty compelling too, and felt for them. MGS4 had noe of the greatest stories in a game.  I loved thehour and a half long cinematics and wouldve been cntent just watching those, really well done. Snake is one cool dude

I havent played too much of the main story, actually hardly any. I just like whats going on, it seems like theres a war going on in there, and all these political backdrops. Its really cool. I mean the kind of side story.. or the backround story, not sure what the actual one is like :P

Not really sure what the main question here is, but some of the best "game stories" out there are: Mass Effect (series), Bioshock, Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Heavy Rain, L.A. Noire, The Darkness, and Batman: Arkham City, just to name a few.

The_Last_Ride

so it doesn't really matter to you?

Not really. If you have a fantastic story you want someone to experience your way, the way you wrote it, then the player should be sent on a set path. Like Metal Gear, or Uncharted.

I think gaming should be another part of the overall media, but some prefer freedom and unique choices: I welcome these choices because you can be yourself in a virtual world that does not exist.

I don't believe gaming should follow a simple path. It should continue to expand, and include all different views of storytelling.

I prefer where one can choose, but if a story is great i would like to experience that too even if it is pre-set

The question wasn't should both exist, or do people lke both. The question was which do you prefer, we pretty much all like both, but we have preferences. That is what makes us interesting, it stops this from being a pointless thread.

It just seems pointless to me, clutters the board, people just say the same things or be boring like Bugbag. There are some initeresting points on occasion, but they are more suited to a discussion in off topic or game discussion threads. It's a better alttertnative than a bunch of small threads that just die out.

Some games have them. Some games dont. Some people like morals and in some games they fit, some people don't like them.

I like moral stories but I also like stories without morals, I have no opinion on the matter really.

Also, even copying an opinion would be me in a higher stead than you, because at least it would mean I had some kind of opinion.

Yet you liked Killzone 2 which has less story than most fighting games.

...

So thats not why you don't play fighting games...

Ah, Stephen... Just figured I should help you out here and tell you I do play fighting games, I just don't play many of them.

I was joking, so if you are going to use these jokes make sure you can take them so fights don't occur. We need to keep the peace. And if you're are going to insult me, look over your comments and make sure they are error free. This is your Mass Effect argument all over again.:P
