Nominations have ended, so now we will go down the polls and slowly eliminate the competitors until we have one from poll A, and one from poll B, meaning the two finalist will battle it out. All polls will be held in this topic except for the final.

Mass Effect defeated Crysis five to one.

Uncharted narrowly defeated Dragon Age by a vote of three to two, only by one vote, earning itself a spot in the quarterfinals where it will face either Portal or Zero Escape.

Arkham easily crushed Metro by three to one. The question is: Can it beat Mass Effect in the quarterfinals and cause a major upset?

Zero Escape portals to the quarterfinals, having won by one vote, with three votes total.

The closest battle of the polls yet, Valkyria Chronicles and Darksiders battled for four days with a tie of three to three, but Darksiders emerged the victor.

Another close battle: Dead Space edged out Bioshock 4 to 3.

Souls won against Borderlands 5 to 4.

Voted Portal... Actually happy to see Zero Escape winning. Very unexpected results here.

I'm glad to see ZE getting some love here. Portal and its sequel are good games, but IMO highly overrated. I never understood how or why that "Cake is a Lie" meme became so popular, and I don't think either games have enough replayability to warrant the high praise... After all, in the case of Portal 2, 60 bucks is an awful lot of moeny to ask for a less than 20 hour game.turtlethetaffer

Nah, I wouldn't say mediocre. Half Life 2 is a very fun shooter, with cool weapons and set pieces, plus a cool atmosphere, L4D is tons of fun with even just one friend (a friend and me have replayed every campaign numerous times locally) and Portal is a fun puzzle game while it lasts.

But yes most of their games are highly overrated.  HL2's story is just boring and Portal is far too short and has barely any replay value.

The plot is boring, not the game. I mentioned it because one of the most lauded things about the game is the story, but I found it quite cliche and boring.  But the game itself is lots of fun.

and as long as there are people in this world that think Far Cry 3's story was good, so, too, shall there be people desperate to find out what happens in Half Life next. 

In other words, gaming apparently has depressingly low standards for storytelling.
