But I like this extended version. I wish the main song had slightly more 'pop' alteration to it, rather than adopting the traditional franchise theme tune.

I hate the extended. I think the normal intro is tolerable, but that is mainly because it is so short. The extended just sounds cheesy and over the top girly.
