When you play your FF game, do you depend on your offensive magic users a lot? Or your high-strength melee attack characters?

Or, you try to have a most balanced team of characters in battle at any one time.

Well I usually just go for the tanks but in FFX it was worth keeping Yuna out to cast white magic. But mostly just tanks. If I can avoid magic then I will :P

but dont you think some black magic spells and some status-inflicting spells can aid in melee attacks so much? And, a magic spell always look cool :P

I like magic users. My team for FFX is normally Yuna (white mage), Lulu (Black Mage), and Kimarhi (followed Black Mage path). So, yeah, Im not into the attacking thing...magic provides much more excitement.

I like both, usually I will play one character to be uber melee and one character to be uber magic, everyone else try to balance.

let me assume this, you were sleeping throughout FFX's random battles, especially boss fights, where bosses spam magic on you, and you have to watch the looooooooong animation. FFX-2 is fast though, nothing fancy, and it's really boring after sometime, cos you don't see anything fancy. Okies... am i contradicting myself ? :P

FFX-2 is annoying because when the magic finally charges up, they still get interrupted by attacks

I prefer Magic over Melee, a lot more fun...But I usually end up always having melee users in my party because they get the job done faster.

The first go-around I use melee, then the second or third time I balance it out.

Go for the tank and, if your playing the right FF, give them one or two strong spells like Ultima. Or just play VI(***) and have every character a tank with good magic.

A balancd party, of course. You never know when you may encounter a enemy that makes one of either physical attacks or magical attacks impratical to use.

I usually try to have some magic and some melee but it usually just ends up with 2 really strong party members and one with moderate strength and white magic... Except for on FFX with the Sphere Grid.

I love magic and I always prefer the spell caster characters. I just never used status ailments that much though, just really to watch the effect once in a while; anyway they usually fail. Summoning is also magic, and I totally love it. I just didn't use normal spells in FF8 that much because they al sucked. D: But for example in FF9, my party was usually Vivi, Eiko, Quina and a tank. In FF10 it was Lulu, Yuna and Auron. Oh well.

My parties are balanced but I like the sharp stabbing things more!

FFI: 2 Knights, one wielding an Excalibur, the other Masamune.

FFII: Magic just plained sucked in this game.

FFV: Duel wield and X-shot!

FFVI: Genji Gauntlet and Offering.

FFVII: 4 Cut with Added Cut Materia.

FFIX: Steiner's Climhazzard and Shock.

FFX: Hastega, I don't really consider this magic I know it is White Magic but it comes from Tidus so more support for me. Hastega and Quick Hit =pure pwnage.

Give me a Tanked out Powerhouse With a Bladed Weapon! Or Give me Death!

For boss fights though magic and summons are just a must have I mean I love watching a Boss Shocked or Burned or Jus plain Wiped out. In random battles only powerhouses though.
