ROTTK 11 pictures

I've had ten and beat it twice, spent many hours on it, but a few days ago I got nine for around 10 dollars.  Actually, I should've gotten eight, I have the box for eight, but the assosciate put 9 in the box... didn't notice until I got home.  Doesn't really matter to me though, nine's pretty fun, though ten is a lot more detailed with officer's individual lives.  Nine is more fun on the large scale though, but the whole game is kinda played like the campaign part of ten, with some exceptions. 

According to what I've gathered about eight, it is probably similar to ten, you can pick an individual officer regardless of rank.  In nine, you have to be a sovereign, but you control everything, naturally.

Eleven looks a lot different so far, it would be awesome if the game becomes that detailed.

EDIT: I like ROTTK better than DW overall, because you basically are free to do as you wish, and you have much more control over everything on the large-scale.  In DW, even though you gain rank or can be a sovereign, you still are set on a linear path of missions, you have no say in what you do, only HOW you do it.  That being said, DW is still great, one of my favorites.

I have 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.  Basically, you need to get out and by an ROTTK game now.

I'd say 10 is definetly the best out there right now.  The formula for ROTK got stale around 7-8, so if you haven't played any, get 9 and 10.  3 was amazing for Genesis, I'd say I've played it for well over 500 hours, completely seriously.

I think Koei is finally getting the message: their games have been using the same formula since 2000.  If DW doesn't make like ROTTK and change soon, I'm not buying anymore.

Turn based, but not simple turns like the old Final Fantasies.  Days go by as you do certain actions in X, in IX a third of a month goes by with each "Action Phase", which is live action conducted as a result of planning in the "Strategy Phase".

There are no phases in ten, days go by according to what you do, but you can sit idly for as long as you want to make a decision, it is not real time.  RottK is more a strategy game, because it's so large scale and doesn't deal with a singular character, though is has RPG elements, especially in X.

8 is the only ROTK to make it Euro/Oz side. And it's fun.
