Generic: Cheng Pu- i see him everywhere in every game

Playable officer: Zhuge Liang - for gods sake... sure hes good but Pang Tong did beat him in a strategy contest and made head stratagests(spelling?)... it sucks it came to the fact of the mistake and his early death

Most Overrated, I'd say Zhuge Liang (Pang Tong's better but is in his shadow for some reason), Lu Bu, and Xiahou Dun.

The last one I'm reluctant to say, he's really cool, and is definitely strong, but everyone thinks he's so tough because he ate his eye. Sure, that's badass, but his moveset really isn't that great. I'm talking about his game character obviously, as I've never read the book.
