Yup it's almost December.  Here are your instructions o' fellow peeps:

1.  Choose ONE released game from this year (2006-duh) that you consider to be the best game.  Post it here, and give a little explanation as to why you think it's amazing (gameplay, graphics, storyline, premise, combat system, etc).

2.  Choose ANOTHER game from any time that you think is the best "overall game".  It can be any game from any console.

3.  After nominations are done,  the nominations will be listed for voting.  Have fun and keep it clean!

Best of the year: Okami

Is a great adventure/puzzle game. The gameplay is out of this world, you get to usual fight plus a complete difrent way of killing. Just for the fact that they dare to be so unique this game deserve the tittle. The visual expirience is amazing, you find or would find a whole new graphics concept that so far i did not even imagine i would see on a video game. And the history even thus is not new, it get your attenttion.

Best Game overall: Resindent evil Remake

They took an already great game and put great graphics and add more time value, which make this game one that any survival horror most have.

Game of the year: Dead or Alive Extreme 2 (XBOX360)

I've been waiting about a year for this game and it hasn't disappointed me at all.The graphics aren't bad and the Gameplay is as complex as it needs to be,but the best thing about this game is that it's a game anyone can relax with while playing it.The story isn't anything special, but it's not one of those games that feeds off story so it's all good. This game has serious replay value to keep me playing on and off for a very long time and it's in every way deserving of the title:Game of the Year.

Best Overall:Fire Emblem 7 (GBA)

I've loved this game ever since I first played it and it will always be the best overall until there's another Fire Emblem installment that's better.I could write a description of why I love it so much, but here:

Your GBA collection is severely lacking without this game!! Fire Emblem is the best series alive and Fire Emblem 7 is the best in the series,I have nothing bad to say about it.If you want a strategy game, you can't go wrong with this one.If you want a GBA game, you can't go wrong with this one.If you want a Long-lasting game rich in almost everything, you can't go wrong with this one.You get the picture.I can't tell you which game is better than this one because I doubt there is one.If anyone can tell me they don't like any of the characters in this game, without lying, then they aren't a gamer.

You need to go pick this one up. This was copied and pasted from my Fire Emblem 7 review.

Game of the Year; Metal Gear Solid 3 : Subsistence.

It's just a great game. It gives you loads of extras like the ability to play the original Metal Gears that came out for the NES and SNES, it provides extra camera angles, it gives you the ability to play people on online play and in the Brittish version you get an extra disc that gives you trailers for MGS4, MGS: PO and others.

Best Game Ever; Soul Reaver

It's just such a fantastic game mixing action, puzzels and vampires. It was one of the first games I bought and I still own my original copy to this day because it's that damn good.

Game of the Year: Smackdown Vs Raw 2007.

This year's smackdown is just wonderful, the grappling system has improved a lot, their are more wrestlers to play with, loads of new modes and matches, plus the graphics look much more awesome and smooth. :) It's defiantly game of the year. :D

Best Game Ever: Devil May cry 3: Special Edition

It has better graphics, more modes, it has Bloody Palace and most of all u can play as Vergil and Nelo Angelo. 8) Plus Vergil's abilities and moves are much more cooler and better then Dante's. He simply kicks @ss.

There have been a great bunch of games that I've played this year, to some of which I have not yet even completed. Xenosaga III, Onimusha Dawn of the Samurai, DMC3: SE, Grandia 3, and most recently FFXII.  Yes, this list is short by far of the great many games that came out, butthey were one's I've bought and am enjoying.

DMC3: SE
What's there not to like about this game? no really? it's just about as awesome as it can get.  Hello, can anyone say Mr. V himself.  Yeah, you know who.  He's strong, bad, and can beat the s*** out of anything, *sings*he's your man, if he can't do it, no one can.  Go kick so demon ass baby.  :Plol, ok, I'm losing it.  oh wait, it's already lost.

FFXII:
I've only really thus started the game and made a dent of about 6 hours, but allready, this game is far surperior to any of the other RPG's I've palyed before.  The story line is engaging and intense, the graphics, phenominal, and the batlle system.  Well, lets just say it's to die for.:P  It absolutely rocks.  No more waiting to start or finish battles, everything flows smothly, and there's no stop to the action.  FF franchise has gone somewhere, they've never gone before. (and if they're is another FF game on a different system, oops, I didn't know.:P lol)

ok, there's my picks.  phewie, that seems like a long post.:P

Game of the Year:
Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

2006 seems like it's been a slow year in games for me. I couldn't think of really any '06 games until Megan mentioned Devil May Cry 3 SE.

Overal Best:
The Legend of Dragoon

I love LoD to death. It's my favorite RPG out there even though it's old and graphics are outdated. GameSpot gave it a 5.4 but GS can't rate games worth a crap..in the review they spelled certain character's names wrong. So I don't think I can trust a review when the reviewer doesn't pay enough attention to the game.

Game of the Year: Onimusha 4: Dawn of Dreams

This was the only game which had me really psyched this year. And it was released during the period of finals, but still, I couldn't resist playing it. Awesome storyline. A very engaging plot which involves almost every character seen in the previous games. Really improved gameplay (though I didnt like it as much as Onimusha 2). And characters are also likeable. And the game also gives you a good challenge in the dark realm. Overall, it was a game which I really enjoyed. Finished the game in two days with 26 hours of playtime.

Best Overall: Onimusha 2 : Samurai's Destiny

Onimusha 2: Samurai's destiny is possibly the best game I have ever played. The graphics are just stunning, even though it's 2-D. Gameplay is good and fast not to mention very innovative. The issen(critical counter hit) is the best part of gameplay. Jubei can issen even the enemies that he is not even targeting. This is not the case in Warlords,Demon siege and Dawn of Dreams. Samanosuke and Soki can only issen the enemies whom they are targeting with the R1 button. They can issen any enemy when they're not targeting a particular enemy. This gives Jubei more freedom to deal with his enemies and hence gameplay is more enjoyable. Music is another big issue. The BG music fits the scenario perfectly. It gives me a soothing effect while playing the game. I can really enjoy whoopin enemy a$$es while completely drowning myself in the game's music. The boss fights are really awesome. There are only four bosses, but each of them provide a good challenge and I loved mastering techniques to defeat them. This is probably my favorite game. The only games to really compete with it are MGS2 and Castlevania: SOTN.

Game of the Year: Okay, so i havent played many what i beleive to be GOTY titles, i cant vote. :P but from the looks of things, Gears of War

Overall: Resident Evil 4: Stunning gameplay, graphics ahead of its time and a story that you can dive into that grips you and scares you occasionly. Contains lots of plot twists, and some of the most graphicly impressive bosses ever. ( the IT)

Game of the Year: Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii Version). I was going to nominate Gears of War...but this game just knocked it outta the park for me. The graphics while not as technically impressive as other next-gen titles this year, are still very beautiful and follow a great art design (especially the bosses and the twilight realm itself). The music is just really uplifiting or tense depending on the situation. The overworld and boss themes are amazing, and you just feel like you accomplished something amazing when you hear Twilight Princess's victory fanfare (mostly plays after killing a boss or learning a new move). The controls feel really smooth, and theres nothing like playing like you're actually wielding a sword (no weak wrist waves for me!). And in all seriousness, at times the Twilight Realm feels and sounds like LoZ's version of Silent Hill...except minus the hellish scaryness.
