Here you can discuss Last.FM and post your top artists for any particular time period. If you haven't joined Last.FM but like music, then I recommend joining. Many people use it to find new music, but I just use it for the statistics. There was a space of about a year when I wasn't able to use it (early 2008-early 2009, so there is a big gap missing for me.

Last.FM

Here is my top ten list for the last 12 months:

1. Queen - 4418 plays
2. The Beatles - 3838
3. Elton John - 2994
4. Beastie Boys - 1048
5. Amaral - 1005
6. Dream Theater - 784
7. Morbid Angel - 694
8. Blind Guardian - 642
9. Death - 617
10. Shakira - 560

Neigh, what if the horsies thing that you think that nej is an English word?!

Also as for last.fm yes it is indeed, for I must see how much of The Beatles you have consumed in case you have not had a sufficient intake of iron.

Otherwise I would have to force you to listen to the Vitamin B12s for the sake of your immune system.

There's something wrong with the updater, apparently. Maybe I'll have to reinstall it.

Try making sure you're clock and time zones are correct.

Then go to Help> Diagnose> Connect Again (Might not be in those words, I have the portuguese version)

Maybe the plug-in is deactivated. You can check on both the music player and the Last.FM thing you downloaded.

Hmmm... I could have sworn I already had you on my friends list there...  Oh well.  I haven't used Last.fm in a long time, so my charts would look totally different.

With 3000 more plays of Porcupine Tree.

I can't scrobble last.fm with the Zune or it's software without an additional software thingy that barely works.  :(

Here's my Last FM although it's also in my sig. I didn't join until 2008 and it's not particularly accurate as I pretty much just buy CDs and I don't always play it through my computer. Also about 95% of my cl@ssical CDs don't scrobble or are not tagged properly (artist is the performer or conductor even though the disc is solely one composer) but overall it's not a bad rough idea of the stuff I listen to regularly.

Makes sense that it's tagged as the composor or conductor, though, because the recording (and thus the performers/conductor) is just as important as the msuic being played IMO. I've heard Brahms recordings that are unlistenably boring, and I like Brahms!

And you wouldn't have an album of cover songs tagged as the original composor---actually I have seen that and it's quite annoying! :P

Well if you've catalogued items for distributors or run music stores (remember those?) the "rules" for cl@ssical are a bit different than they are for other genres. Typically an album that is comprised of music from one composer is listed under that composer no matter who is playing or conducting the pieces. If there are multiple composers then you put it under the next biggest person involved be they a conductor, soloist, or orchestral/choral/chamber ensemble.

But the problem with the Last FM scrobbling (besides the fact that most cl@ssical doesn't track) is that often I can listen to albums that are solely one composer and yet some of the CDs that do track will have that same album listed under various people that played on it sometimes track by track. Because of this I could listen to quite a few discs of Mahler and yet my profile wouldn't have me listed as listening to him at all.

Not really a big deal to me to be honest, but it makes my profile a bit inaccurate.

Yep, though for the tagging 50% of mine seem (that is 50% of the 50% that aren't unkown) to be tagged as by the conductor/orchestra/or performer with the composer being listed under composer and not contributing artist, but the other 50% often do it the other way around!

I've only listened to the album "90125" It was ok. I plan on listening to the rest of their discography soon.
