If you mean the bracket itself, it depends on how many are thrown out. Honestly, i'd love to get up to 64 bands but that's the highest i'm going.

Honestly....I think this should be held off. Make it more order. Set it up in Regions like the NCAA tournment. And I dont think "great band ever tournamnet" is a good title. I say we come up with a different name.

I think the regions should be like Rock and metal for one region. Hip-hop/rap and r&b for another. etc.

Ok, I've come down to a plan I think we can work out.

There will be four regions (Classic Rock, Metal, Rap, and Punk). Everyone should nominate bands for all four regions and we'll start the bracket as soon as we reach 32 or 64 bands. Sound good?

Metal and rap are good, but I think punk and classic rock should be changed.  They're too specific I think.  Maybe alternative instead of punk, andjust plain rock instead of classic rock?

And if we do 64 bands. That is 16 bands per region. Which would be enough for plenty of bands to cover each sub genre

I'm definitely liking the sound of that.

I think that we should nominate by regions. And we have to decide how we are going to do this. Like how many bands battles per week and what not.

Its quite a process.

Yeah, this.  Seperate brackets for seperate genres sound like the best route.

You might want to say Hip Hop musci rather than rap if you're including RnB etc. though the purists would be annoyed with that and want RnB under Urban or whatever, in which case rap should not go under that. :lol:

Since I assume people will put many older bands up here, I'm going to go with some contemporary stuff that I believe is worthy of such a title and within a wider range of genres.

1. Margot and the Nuclear So and So's

2. Brand New

3. Pennywise (they are a bit older yes, but a great punk band)

4. Incubus

5. Augustana

Ok, so our regions are Rock, Hip Hop, Metal and Miscellanious.

I need at least 64 bands nominated. To make this work, honestly I need 16 bands for each region to make 64. Also, I need bands that everyone can agree on. So, is there anything else to discuss? 

Was there going to be a pop category?

(RnB would probably fit better under that, and then you could fill it up more easily too!)

Well, as far as I know this is what's mostly official. 

--There will be eight regions instead of four. They will be Metal, Rock, Pop, Rap, R&B, Jazz, Country and Misc.

--Everyone should nominate at least one band for each region. More than 1 is acceptable.

--Rankings will be held by how many plays each nominated band has on Last.FM(I'll check up on those later)

--All nominations should be in by April 18th. That is TWO WEEKS from now.

Yes, and the more people that nominate the band you nominated, the more likely it will appear and the higher it will be ranked(along with the last.fm plays).
