Ah yes...

previously mentioned games such as Cannon Fodder, Turrican("Welcome to Turrican mua ha ha ha"),Monkey Island 1,2,3, Chaos Engine, Wings(ahh, what a beauty), Wing Commander, Zenon 2,etc.

How about? Dungeon Master, Battlechess(How can you forget?), Battle Isle, Battle Isle '93, Settlers 1, Civilization 1, Pirates!, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders(and pretty much any other Lucasfilm Games adventure game). I still have copies of all of these games some of them just back ups because the originals got burned up from being played so often. Too bad the Amiga I own no longer works. I may take some pictures of some of the game manuals and disks I own if the union would like me to post them somewhere?

The Amiga was my first computer and sort of a first love as well(gaming-wise). I had a Nintendo and a Sega Genesis and all that but something still makes me go back to play those old games again and again. They just don't make games like that anymore.

Yea i think since many of the games were "free" since all the copying goin on, it didnt matter so much if 1 was bad.

Gunship 2000 though. Some game! :D

Well, Amiga means Girl-friend in Spanish :)

Wings also rocked my world!

K-240 This is the ultimate asteroid simulation strategy. Butt seriously, great game that never seen the day light on PC, excluding WinUAE of course.

Man its about time the best Home PC ever got its own union

8)

Anyway favourite games. I had so many but I think my all time favourite had to be

WINGS

Sensible World Of Soccer

I loved Cinemaware games as a kid and Wings was the best. The music, the diary entried before the missions, everything was so atmospheric. And the final mission where you go face to face with 1 sole enemy pilot as a final mission was really emotional. This game as a kid really got me into gaming i think

Sensi

What can be said - it was THE football game of all time (recently bought the megadrive plug into the TV version) And when you had a few of you around a screen :)

but as i said i could list loads of games - but these are my top 2

far far too many - man Im checking this union so many times day - I LOVE AMIGA

Think of all the great software companies:

Cinemaware, lucasarts. Bitmap brothers (gotta love Speedball 2, Xenon 2), Team 17, Gremlin, Bullfrog to nam a few

Each of these (i know they didnt only produce for the amiga) cread classics. I think the first game i bought was supercars 2 so that always holds a lot for me

the another game i LOVED was Off road racing - which i am now playing on the pc as its part of Midway Arcade Trasures deluxe

but far too games to mention the Amiga was THE best time for gaming. Ok now we have great technology and epic masterpieces - but the dont have the playability that sensi or Robocod had

Or am i just old :)

anyone play Bip, i think i got it off a coverdisk - it was brilliant,

Also another game i got off Amiga power game was called extreme violence. Very simple game where you and an opponenet were in a maze and you had to get each other. simple game, simple graphics but had neat special weapons etc

this is why I loved the amiga, some of the freeware shareware was great

Did i say i love the amiga

BIP was a one screen game where you were 2 planes and you had to shoot down the opponent more than he did you, had decent graphics for a coverdisc free game

But I agree with you about the demos. I remember when I received a magazine with a demo of a game called sensible soccer ( yeah I dont know what happened to that ;))

but you know a game wil be great when the following happens. The demo of sensi i got was basically a normal game but it ended when the first goal was scored. Me and my cousin would play this for hours. We loved it so much that we would intentionally not score to get te most out of it. I rushed out to buy t when it was released.

Thenthe sensible lads would releae special edition demos of the game. Who rememembers Cannon soccer! Where the ball was a grenade and after a variable amount of time the grenade would flash then explode taking everyone out :D

then there was a semo set on the moon i think with very weird gravity obviously

oh yeah- I loved the amiga :). (Commodore should bring it back the amiga and sign me up as publicist)

I too remember that game. Far more fun than some full price games.
There was also a game called Tanx that I had on a coverdisc. Imagine a precursor to worms with a tank on each side of some mountains. You could blast your way through the mountains or if you could judge range and trajectory (plus obligatory wind direction/speed) you could fire over the mountains.

As for favourite Amiga titles.... there are too many to mention. I might just work on a, sort of, definitive list or I might just chip in as and when. :)
