5th gen is one of my favorites, so making a top 5 is going to be neck in neck for me. After all, 1998 was one of the best years in gaming. Here is my list, from top to bottom.

Even if Hideo Konami is now proven as a big hack who didn't credit the real talent, he'll always have this gem.

I had PS1 back then and this was only game in entire library i ever liked. Excellent game.

other than never liked console games. either old school console games or modern console games.

came to think early 3D consoles games are even worse, people are blinded by nostalgia these games have bad camera and controls. they were norm. thats why i praise Halo among console games rather than PC games as Halo suck compare to PC games as its factually fact but compare to AWFUL console games. it was gold.

PC was king back then and still now.

I think at that time I took a break from gaming.

Never had one. I think the only game I remember playing was Nights into Dreams, since that was supposed to be a killer app.

Literally the least complicated thing. Take whatever year the PS1 launched-till the PS2 launched. Boom that's your generation of PC titles.

I've always considered PC as being part of the generation. I don't see it as not having a generation. Most developers make games for all systems. PC is very much subjugated to the console world.
