I'll give it a 9. I forgot how engrossing the games are and they did an incredible job bringing the first game up to date graphically. The facial animations are still wonky but that's to be expected from a 2007 game.
I'm playing them in order and am about 10 hours into the first.
Am currently playing through the first game in the collection and really enjoying it. I absolutely loved the games when they first came out. So far I would say that they updated the first game quite nicely. Will have to play through the rest to give a final verdict but that may take awhile.
@davillain-:
Oh I have all the originals day one and played through them more times than I should have. lol
But if the new ones come to GP I'll be happy to play through them again. ;)
Not giving EA £54.99.
Maybe give it a wack if can get it from a dodgy key site or a steep, steep discount.
The Gamespot review also indicated they are big racists, trying to make black people white to appeal to the COD crowd.

I'm about 12 hours into the first one and loving it. You need to score a series X one of these days, i'm sure it would look great on there :D
I'm more into Oldschool ps1 JRPG's over modern WRPG's
I'm into both. Mass Effect is quite good. I love space themed stuff. I mean, I kind of command the galaxy from it.
As a rule I don't like remasters and try not to support them--I don't think most of the games that get remastered are old enough to need it, and it discourages backwards compatibility for consoles so it's a cheap cash-in...and I'm on PC so I don't need them--but ME:LE is a decent remaster.
I don't know what's different about it, but the gameplay in ME1 feels better. Less dated. And I replayed ME1 (original) less than a year ago so the memory is pretty fresh.
The visual updates are nice, everything feels intact, and it's a stable release (at least for me). Highly recommend it, especially to some of the younger gamers or anyone that happened to miss out on ME 1 or other games. That's saying a lot because before ME:LE I would not have recommended ME1 to most people.

I'm enjoying it a lot. Can't wait to hit up 2.
It made me immediately remember why Mass Effect 1 is one of the best games ever. It's perfectly atmospheric and grand in scope. I love everything about that game. The characters side quests, little snippets of information about species and past actions in the universe. It's brilliant and I miss independent bioware when the doctors were running things.
I wrapped up Mass Effect and holy cow, this is one of the best RPGs around. I'd advise anyone who hasn't played it yet to play the original Mass Effect.
Mass Effect 2 does feel a lot different. Not bad, just different. It feels more refined, but it also feels a bit less like Mass Effect and a bit more like Gears of War.
Those playing it, just imagine for a second what Bioware was able to do in 2021 if they still had the OG talent, no pressure from EA and a good budget from EA. Just imagine for a damn second. Now wake up and remember that its not a possibility anymore. This sucks ðŸ˜
@hardwenzen: BioWare has unfortunately been dead a long long time:/ but yeah they used to be my favorite developer by fare, but haven’t made anything I really enjoyed since dragon age 2...
As for the OP, haven’t played it and doubt I will tbh. The original games were/are bloody brilliant though, but my very limited playtime makes it hard to find the time to play them again!
It's great. I finished ME1 and I'm about halfway through ME2. These remasters look gorgeous on my ultrawide and run wonderfully on my 3080/5800x rig.
So far it looks like BioWare have managed to avoid the problems that plagued previous games that used 64-bit ports of Unreal Engine 3, which was originally the only reason I didn't buy it day 1.
So yeah, I'll probably buy it right after I finish my Seatruck only + 5 crafted Batteries run in Subnautica: Below Zero. I'm about to dive into the crystal caves with the scary sea monsters, so it's very soon.
These games are just so damn good. The first one had such a sense of wonder and mystery to it with all the lore and story elements to it. It really rewarded the player with tons of side quests and exploration. Saren was a great antagonist as well and the Reapers were such a foreboding menace. Really enjoying playing through this again.
It is a shame that the online multiplayer in ME3 didn’t make it over though. Had tons of fun playing that on the Xbox 360 version.

yeah those are my memories of it too. played it through once on launch, loved it and haven't returned back since, the more time went on the more i worried it wouldn't have aged well. great to hear so many positive things said about it as part of the remaster
They didn't change the ending so I don't really care. Although it does seem like they put in considerable effort to make ME1 playable for todays standards so I will give them kudos for that, it wasn't just a lazy remaster.

yeah im not buying in for full price, tho walmart sells it at 49.99 USD its still too high
Also i just realized i can play all 3 on gamepass through EA play anyway... its not "Remasterd" but the work done to it seems minor anyway.
