More studio acquisitions or related first party news. Microsoft's first party is a joke compared to Sony's. Their E3 reveal of acquired studios was good but they were also minor studios. The best one of the bunch was Ninja Theory, still a far cry from Sony's offerings.
Actually MS first party studio are on average better than Sony's. Sony has Santa Monica and maybe Naughty Dog (even though they lost their best talent) and maybe the San Diego studio. Guerrilla games makes multiple mediocre games before churning out a good one, Sucker Punch are average and Bend are unproven as they haven't made anything note worthy in nearly 2 decades and from the look of Days Gone that trend will continue. PolyPhony have been a failure since 2005 and on a downward trend while Turn 10 continue to embarrass them. That's not including the fact that Sony has studios like Pixel whatever (the studio made Enterwined or whatever) and studios making VR games.
Right now the only studio under MS that delivered a dud is Rare, when MS gets Obsidian and (possibly) Turtle Rock its going to be even more lopsided. Obsidian themselves have made 4 80+ games in the past 5 years, 3 of them while on massive budget constraints. Ninja Theory with less than 20 people and 10 million $$ made a game that blew Sucker Punch out of the water.
What? Killzone and inFAMOUS are critically acclaimed series. Not just that but Horizon was fantastic and Ghost of Tsushima looks great. Bend are unproven but they've made good games in the past and Days Gone looks good. The latest gran turismo games have also been good, GT6 had a metascore of 81. I don't know how you can define that as a failure lol. There's also Media Molecule and a bunch of other studios.
MS hasn't released an exclusive game of notable quality in a long time. Hellblade did not blow an entire studio out of the water lol. Obsidian isn't part of Microsoft, so far that's just a rumor.
