Your favorite Zelda game?

I'm on a Zelda kick SW, reading up on the lore and none of it is sticking 😆 But with Breath of the Wild 2 being one of the biggest games of 2022, what is your favorite Zelda game? Mine is still Ocarina of Time. I think it handily beats Breath of the Wild. It's a more linear, focused experience with an awesome story, memorable characters, and great time mechanic. Every Zelda since this then just doesn't reach the same magic of OoT, but Breath of the Wild was close, I'll give it that.

toss-up for me between A Link To The Past and Ocarina of Time

Breath of the Wild might objectively be better but I don't have quite the nostalgic attachment to it as the others.

Yeah. I still play it. It's one of those games you only need to mentally engage lightly, enough to keep you interested but not enough to burn you out. Don't get those much, these days.

I can't say anything bad about that game. The music, the graphics, the gameplay, the light puzzles, the dungeons...just the right amount of everything without seeming to be pretentious or trying too hard.

OOT and BOTW are the only ones I like.

Twilight Princess - Gamecube version... by a mile. Then the following in this order.

I've only played BotW. Never thought the series would be for me until a friend demanded I play it. 10/10 for me

Dunno what’s with everyone’s love story with ALTTP. Way too many dungeons and about half of them are weak.

I've only played the OG, Link to the Past and few hours of Ocarina (couldn't save because the battery was dead), so I would go with Link to the Past.

Wind Waker then Twilight Princess then Breath of the Wild. Probably A Link Between World >> Breath of The Wild but I forgot how the story goes in that game.

I dont hold Ocarina of Time and Majora Mask highly. Only played them on the 3DS and Ocarina is a 6.5/10 game while Majora is a 8/10 game only because its prettier than Ocarina and I got used to the control.

Overall, Okami >>>> 3D Zelda games.

A few things about each. Zelda BOTW being able to climb ever where game changer drives me nuts that I cant do that when I go and play other games. Also love the big map. The old school dungeons and lack of story is a bummer though but that is also why I think BOTW 2 can be a lot better.

Zelda Oot i didnt play until like 2004 on the gamecube collection disc so I dont have the nostalgic for it like most people do and yet loved loved it took me a long long time to beat it though years. But just a great game and not just because it was the first 3d zelda game.

Zelda TP I would maybe put above Oot if it was harder but its like the easiest 3d zelda game but love the story and the dungeons and minda is such a great character and companion has she has a lot of character development threw out the story.

Last note most overrated Zelda Is WW by far its a good game but its like 5-6 best Zelda game at best yet so many people have it in top 3. Oh also Link to the past was my first zelda and like my 4th favorite.

First zelda game to really set up the formula with dungeons and everything and great soundtrack.

Twilight Princess. Was my first Zelda game and was the one that I still want to go back to. I haven't found a similar experience with the couple or few Zelda games I have played.

It's way better than it is popular, fur shur. Only complaint I have would be re-visiting the same dungeon 20 times, but I didn't really dislike doing it. Enjoyed Spirit Tracks too, but not as much.

My least favourite Zeldas would be Majora's Mask, since it's not like how Zelda usually is at all, but something very different which I didn't enjoy. People putting MM as the best Zelda game probably don't really like Zelda games.

Minish Cap wasn't very good either, and Link's Awakening, from what I've played, is very overrated. But all of those are still better than Skyward Sword, the ultimate turd of the franchise.

OOT is still tops.

It’s been a few years since I played WW remaster, but the more I ruminate on that game the higher it climbs among my favorites (in spite of not enjoying it the first go around).

The Oracle games also never get enough love.

God, this is really tough, because each of my favorite zelda games plays so tight decades later so the glory never fades.

Breath of the wild actually made me feel like I was playing the original zelda again for the first time in 30+ years. It was a masterpiece on another level.

A Link to the past is my other notable zelda game that is just so amazing no matter how ld I am or when I play it. It's perfect.

Still to this day, Ocarina of Time ... i know the franchise is filled with amazing games, but very few have the impact OoT had in me, Wind Waker, Link to the Past and BotW are pretty close though.

I do have fond memories of OoT and Zelda II though.

Majora’s Mask is still my favorite to this day but followed closely by LttP. The only ones I don’t care for are Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks.

Link to the Past is the answer I give most days. Every once in a while I say OoT or BotW

Nah. I’ve been playing Oot on my 2DS and nope. BOTW is better it was the best game of last gen and the best Zelda ever.

Your problem is that you played OOT on your 2DS 😄
