At E3 this year, Microsoft showed off "Fable Legends" for Xbox One, a new take on the RPG franchise's well-loved world of magic, humor and high adventure. Fable Legends' stunning visuals were created using Unreal Engine 4, so, we asked our friends at Lionhead if they'd do a bit of experimentation with us. The resulting tech demo created by Lionhead showcases the rich, immersive graphics of Albion that are possible -with DX12- and Maxwell.

the youtube video is basically a guy explaining the situation between consoles and their power right now. how MS is gradually shifting from the weaker console to a graphical powerhouse with 4x MSAA AND D12 in tow to boost performance. pretty great for MS...after the Forza Horizon 2 Demo the system seems to be nothing but capable to go head up against the ps4.

Maybe microsoft will catch-up with sony in terms of performance, but they probably will make their software enhancements in time too, so we will see what happens. It looks nice but i dont think we can talk abour performance before playing the actual game, also first video is kind of shuttering on my pc, so i didnt see much of it. Im more excited in how much will dx12 do in pcs.

DX12 will no doubt help. But as i have said. Both systems are comparable. I absolutely love the PS4 and X1. I am dying to play Bloodbourne, Halo and many others.

So umm... what are the features?

The only things I'm seeing in this so called tech demo is high fidelity lighting and maybe some sort of efficient way of repeating foliage?

Honestly, DX versions don't mean shit until a PC dev picks it up.

UE 4 directly supports it so they don't need to pick it up. Assuming they pick up UE 4.

Ya thats why I posted the video from the conference were it was presented. The speaker I believe is the lead Dev of DX12 at Microsoft.

Yes, and that's still gonna take a while. We're still in the era of UE3. 2015 is when devs will start their second round of current gen titles and possibly use UE4.

Your threat title is a joke the demo was for PC with a Maxwell new GPU from Nvidia..lol Not the xbox one in any way,and there was several games on PS4 already that uses MSAAx4.

The xbox one isn't shifting any where even less to a powerhouse.

The most laughable part is that people are believing that there will be such thing as a good fable game. I think this idea has been debunked time and time again. This will not live up to the hype...guaranteed.

I'm far more interested in seeing cloud computing will indeed be used for destructability in Crackdwon has it was hinted. Don't see it though.

Numerous developer have talk about it on PC not xbox one,in fact many laugh at MS for the claim.

Which is the reason why Mantle is here and working and DX12 arrives on late 2015..hahahaha

We implemented it on Xbox 360 and had a whole lot of ideas on how to make that more efficient [and with] a cleaner API, so we took that opportunity with Xbox One and with our customised command processor we've created extensions on top of D3D which fit very nicely into the D3D model and this is something that we'd like to integrate back into mainline 3D on the PC too - this small, very low-level, very efficient object-orientated submission of your draw [and state] commands.

DX12 = Xbox API on PC..hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Those gains are already there reason why MS could not demo it on xbox one and used PC with would serve their PR purpose best.

Enjoy the info on this post post read from the top please even Phill Spencer it self already killed that notion and he knows why,MS lied about DX12 on xbox one,and they used PC as shield,where DX12 would show gains because it has higher CPU over head which every one with a decent amount of hardware knowledge knows.

A lot of people says its focused on a performance increase instead of new features. I might be wrong, correct me if im wrong.

It will increase Xbone's performance for sure, i hope we will see same change on pcs.

@tormentos: when you get a 1080p 4x msaa open GI game come holla at me the xbox one is dx12 fable is xbox one and they had showed that demo before maxwell intro they showed the same demo on the xbox one first go youtube it. Good luck with your closed ass games with nothing going on on the screen just the with a couple of bad guys to kill and moving on on this linear ass path ...but hey its 1080p so it must be good right?

Out of all the features dx12 has, Xbone can handle only one and a half of it lol please be hyped for Dx12 on a console that has a 7770 inside.

the guy crapgamer guy isnt really my cup of tea either but i do agree with several of his points...MS never shows their hand early. that's Sony's tactic, empty promises that they have no way to fulfill fully. MS though actually plans and schemes ideas that get worked through behind the scenes. and when they're finally ready they push it out to people. that's why i'm always patient with them...because MS delivers.

for example, the Minecraft purchase...we didnt catch wind of that until a few days before it was finalized. they kept their mouths shut...get it done, initiate, then proceed on with their next step. most here still cant fathom why they purchased the game/studio or how in the world they plan to recoup all that money in a years time. MS knows why and how though. with this DX12 issue, we'll get a lot of vague reports saying this and that but still very little about what can and will actually be done, like Tormentos's links...and a while from now cows and naysayers will be backtracking again like they did with 4x MSAA. i'm sure of it. like i was sure Playstation Now was going to be a money grab milking machine months before the beta released...lol.
