Yakuza Kiwami is the best game ever made, PRAISE SONY

It really is the best game.

Only problem it has is that it has way too much yakuza part.

Unironically, Kiwami 2 is the best Yakuza game.

Even though every game in the series is awesome, I'd say Kiwami is on the lower end.

Disagree, Shenmue is awesome. There's only one part in the Shenmue series (so far) that was meh, and that was the walking simulator part at the end of the second game :(

Shenmue is garbage, it's a waiting simulator.

It got good scores in the past because of the graphics and "innovative" life simulation.

I have to agree. S1 is probably the most boring game I've ever played.

They each have their charm, but Yakuza has the benefit of being a current series that has had the opportunity to evolve over a lot of years and entries. Shenmue was amazing for its time, and I'm very curious to see what the new one looks like.

@boycie: I agree also. Shenmue was innovative for sure, but not that interesting to play unfortunately.

I never quite understood why some people think Shenmue and Yakuza are competing against each other. Aside from a few surface level similarities, they're completely different types of games, so I love both series for the unique experiences that they provide.

@Ant_17: They're close, but I'm kind of giving Y3 the edge for the remaster and its better framerate. I also played Dead Souls on Hard, which probably wasn't a good idea in hindsight, because of how monotonous the combat is. Story wise and overall charm, Dead Souls runs circles around Y3 though, so fingers crossed for a remaster lol.

Yakuza 1 was called a spiritual successor to Shenmue back in the day so i can see the comparison, but Yakuza evolved and Shenmue died. Yakuza 1 is trash and has been trash ever since Yakuza 2 came out.

As for dead souls, did you try controller type B? Makes the controls kinda like RE4 and makes it more easy to play. At least for me.

I know everyone likes to say that, but does anyone know if SEGA has ever said that themselves? If you play Shenmue and Yakuza back to back, it becomes very apparent how different they are.

I don't remember which controller scheme I picked tbh. I didn't think the game was hard, but it was mentally draining at times with how endless the waves were. I think I have all the zombie sound effect noises permanently embedded in my brain, lol.

Yakuza 2 and Now Kiwami 2 is the best!

Haven't played Kiwami yet. I am still very slowly working my way through Yakuza 0 which I am finding to be a good game.

I've only played the recent games - Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, Yakuza 6, and Kiwami 2.

Kiwami 1 is easily the worst of them. It feels like a cheaper remake, it lacks the cinematic touch of the later games, and Majima Everywhere was incredibly tedious later in the game.

It's still a good game, but nowhere near as excellent as the other three I've played.

I think we are the only few that actually like Dead Soul! I had a lot of fun with it even those crazy man hole that I forgot how many levels I had to go own!
