I guess I'll play them again, lol. It's probably going to be another 200-300 hours time sink (mostly because of Y5).

I will only buy Yakuza 3 if they put back all the stuff they cut out from the original!

Its not even trying to be like GTA...If its trying to be like something, that would be Shenmue, since the series is considered a spiritual successor to it

@ni6htmare01: You have to assume they are since this is being done by Japan, and when it comes over to the west, they're probably going to have to do a new translation anyway. Say goodbye to "Fuma" and "Kage" lol.

Kiwami 1 and 2 are remasters of the first and second games of the series.

Kiwami 1 and 2 are actually remake and not just remaster!

@jumpaction: The numbered games, yeah. The spinoffs like Dead Souls, Kenzan, Ishin (though this one is on PS4 in Japan), and the Black Panther PSP games aren't. None of them are canon however, so you can ignore them for story purposes at least.

@recloud: That's great! I wish that was more common. I hate when you want to get into a series but end up having to go around different systems to play them.

It's nice and compact to have something like Yakuza all in one place.

Words do not convey the joy it brings me to know that Yakuza games are a thing in the west, now. One of those series that has real character and stands out on its own to any gamer feeling like they need something new.

Edit: oh, these will be remasters, not remakes like the Kiwami games.

@lamprey263: These are 1080P 60 FPS remasters. Yakuza 1 & 2 were the only ones remade because they're PS2 games, and 3-5 are already technically using the same engine as 0 and Kiwami 1.

Yakuza 3 on ps3 is actually getting pricey on Ebay and 4 is getting up there as well. (I already own them but haven't beaten them)

If they can make all 3 games look as good as Kiwami 1 or 0 I will be very satisfied with just remasters.

I was about to buy a Japanese version of 5 to own a physical copy, now I will just wait and hope this gets a US release.

Honestly, I think I might have ended up liking the disco dancing more than karaoke, at least in Zero anyway, lol.

Most of my Kiryu favorites are in Y6, but "Machine Gun Kiss" is pretty good. As for the other games, I actually really like "Ring" from Y5. Kiryu's dancing and engrish puts it over the top for me, lol.

I've never been that interested in yazuka for whatever reason. I might try out 1 and see what it's all about.

@Ant_17: Well to be fair, there are a lot of them. I played through Y5 not that long ago, so I still remember some of them.

Yeah, "Like a Butterfly" is hilarious, but the karaoke all around is really good in Y6. The song I posted is only available in premium mode just as a heads up for whenever you play it.
