$499 is not a bad price for the Series X

Supposedly All Access is being expanded to more countries too

$499 means DOA for XSX. MS needs to undercut Sony in a big way, and that price tag ain't doin' it.

Interesting. That's $100 less than I was expecting for XSX. I wonder where that leaves Sony. $399/$449 for the PS5 models?

I was expecting $599 as well.. if this is true I wonder if Sony comes in lower or matches.

I also wonder if this "leak" was done to get a number out there so that Sony officially states their price then MS comes in with a matching or lower price to the PS5

I think $499 would be a pretty good price for the XSX. I’d definitely be happy with that. November 10th release date sounds right. I think Halo: Infinite had that leaked as a date not long ago and since it was going to come out at the same time as the system that kind of outed the release date.

It's confirmed.

XSS is fugly but the pricing is what you'd expect. So now the PS5 will certainly land somewhere between $400-$500.

$499 for a box that does high fidelity gaming and more is quite worth it personally. Now sony announce $349 & $399 PS5 please.

I doubt the PS5 with disk is Sub $400

If I had a guess I would say they have it either the same as the XSX

I also wonder if this was leaked to judge reaction from people.. i.e. are people accepting of this price point or are they mad about it.

I'll be going for the physical PS5 myself but a $399 digital PS5 is looking like a brilliant move by Sony. For only $100 more than that digital 1080p Series S people can get an actual next gen console.

Who knows. If you want to go all conspiracy theorist you can say they did this to force Sony's price reveal to undercut them. 😮. But in reality the price is reasonable. The biggest hiccup for these consoles is the economy and the upcoming nightmare of elections in the US.

The prices seem to be falling right in line with what I’ve been expecting. My expectations were:

XSX - $499

XSS - $299

PS5 - $499

PS5 Digital $399

I wonder if we’ll finally get some official confirmation of prices this week. These leaks are kind of ruining any official revealing now.

I cant see how the PS5 can be $500 if the xbox is that price, the PS5 has a much smaller APU,smaller ssd, smaller bus,and slower ram chips.

Supposedly alot of their $$$ went into the SSD so that might bring them close in price

I doubt Sony is going to make a move until MS officially announces the prices themselves. This leak smells like bait. I believe the wait will continue.

I don’t think I like the Series S being $299. That’s too high for what it’s trying to accomplish. And if the Series X can hit $499, the Series S should be $249 MAX. It’s all digital. Xbox is gonna make the money back in the store/GamePass. Make the Series S $199 and steal some customers from Sony!

I was wondering the same thing

was it leaked to get Sony to officially release prices and was it released to gauge the reaction of the consumers over those price points

true but from all the stuff I have seen floating around the interwebs Sony put alot of their R&D budget as well as a significant portion of the console cost into the SSD.

I forget the actual numbers but think I read somewhere that the SSD in the PS5 cost about 1.5x the amount of the XSX SSD. Both consoles probably had a pretty similar cost to manufacture and they both spent it in different places. You would also have to think that the PS5 shell is harder to make than the XSX

Would be funny since these are leaks and not actually confirmed that this is bait to lure Sony to announce the prices then Microsoft comes in and drops the prices of both by $100...lmfao.

Doubtful but would be hilarious nonetheless...

$499 for the Series X is what the majority saw the price at. Seems very reasonable for the hardware this thing is packing. I see Sony going $499 and $399 for physical and digital.

PS5 $399 or $449. They can because they sell mind boggling amounts of games.

$500 USD would be a pretty good price for the X and tempt a lot of people.

Going to wait and see what games are coming in the first year to decide on one of these or the PS5 if they are both under 500.

Sony need to come in at 399 and 349..with the digital option being the best to ease the Pain of the huge power and current game line up disadvantage

The serious S at 299 will appeal to the majority of console gamers who have a 1080 tv and no emotional attachments to a brand

You think Sony wouldn't have revealed the price weeks/months ago if their highest end system was only $399? There are zero chances of it being at that price. They don't even need to undercut MS, they'll just match it at $499 and $449 for the digital version. Maybe $399 for the digital version but i don't see why would there be a $100 price drop for a disc drive.

With the same cpu, gpu, ssd and ram that the standard version has? That is not happening. Not only is it way too low, but they don't even need to sell their system for cheap because there's no competition on launch. If MS had a bunch of quality exclusives that would be something, but they don't even have anything at all. It will be a CP2077 console, that's it.

Still need to know specs and actually how those specs will run games.

Plus where they will be launched.

Bit lame on all counts we dont have something more by now. But understandable under the circumstances.

The only thing I would buy the Series S for is to stream the games from my Series X and play in another room when family hogs the big TV.

Hope they have this at full power.

The faster speeds of the Drive push the prices up. Look at SSD drives for retail the faster the drive the more $ it cost.

Also it is likely that Sony and MS have the same size drive but one (Sony) is advertising usable space and the other (MS) is advertising total space
