Xbox One's Rise of the Tomb Raider VS PS 4's Unchartered 4

Xbox One got timed exclusive in Rise of the Tomb Raider this year and PS 4 got Unchartered 4 releasing next year. Which action adventure game are you hyped for most amongst above warriors ? :)

Rise of the Tombraider is published by MS, this game in the Tombraider franchise is Xbox exclusive, maybe PS4 will get the next Tombraider game but it won't get Rise of the Tombraider

Rise of the Tombraider will be the better games, Metroidvania style gameplay over Uncharteds Call of Duty style set pieces and linear gameplay

I'm looking forward to both but would have to see more of both games to see which one will get me more hyped. Hard to answer when there's very little seen from either game.

As to which is better i pick dude Raider,and Tomb Raider is also linear so i don't know why you say that.

Uncharted 3 was God awful, but Uncharted 4 will have Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann so unless ROTR is vastly better than TR I see Uncharted 4 stomping it's face in.

Uncharted 4 will be better but PS4 owners get both anyways. I expect the PS4 version to be overshadowed by Uncharted 4, similar to how people forgot about the original when TLoU came out.

I am anticipating Uncharted 4: A Thief's End more.

That's nice, both games are still great and seeing how Tomb Raider was first and Uncharted followed behind it's good that Tomb Raider is now looking to make good changes based on what Uncharted did. They are mirroring each other.

Yeah, I'll give you the reboot. Seems they're doing things a bit more differently in the upcoming one.

Rise of the Tombraider details

At least two different locations across the globe.

- Jonah is back from the first game

- Environment itself as the main antagonist.

- Cloth and herb to heal wounds.

- More than one of each weapon type.

- Variety of bows with different attributes.

- Weather system that animals and human enemies react to.

- Not sure if they confirmed a day night cycle or not, they mentioned "animals reacting to" time of day.

- Hub areas are two to three times bigger than previous game.

- Lara can climb trees, hide in bushes, swim.

- Pushing for pre planning aspect to engaging in combat, though sneaking past everyone isnt the goal.

- Tools for distracting enemies and luring them where you want them.

- You can lose the enemies after engaging them.

- Game informer says combat reminds them of the Last of Us.

- CD talks about doing more with tombs and puzzles this time around.

- Want greater emphasis on puzzles this time.

- Talk of 'nested puzzles' returning from past Tomb Raider games; multi-stage puzzles.

- CD wants to integrate combat and traversal challenges into the puzzles.

- Still aiming to have the puzzles make sense in a realistic setting.

Hahaha, I'm pretty sure there's going to be some shooting in Tomb Raider also.

Uncharted 4 on the premise that Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us are good. Where as everything Crystal Dynamics has ever done with this franchise on its best moments has been okay or simply average if we're being nice, or pretty lousy when held under any scrutiny.

Based on previous entries - Wow, both of them will suck

Based on what they've shown - Uncharted 4, since it actually showed a fun looking game, and Tomb Raider has shown...oh right nothing.

Both have good, but meh storylines

Both of them are thrid person shooters with platforming/puzzles elements and linear style exploration

Both will probably be 30fps

One of them has a main characters with boobs

Yes, it has shown nothing but that's because it wasn't a victim of a delay, but rather a tightly controlled game when it comes to its release date so this accusation comes across as a tad silly. Anyway, expect a lot of footage during this year's E3 and based on Game Informer's massive feature, as well as recent exclusive hands-on from Official Xbox Magazine the changes they implemented are fairly substantial ones, and they make me excited, actually. This game might have some genuine substance to it, it might not be some flashy one-trick pony wannabe Ubisoft game anymore!

RoTR will take more of an adventure approach than TR2013 did.

So naturally what game gave me more reason to be excited/interested? One game's excitement would be based on something tangible, the other a name. It's not a hard concept.

Bottom line one game showed me an actual game, the other game showed me nothing. There is a tangible reason to show interest in one game, where as there isn't one for another.

Uncharted 4 because based on previous Naughty Dog games, their games are just better designed on every single facet they share with eachother. And my God it's not even close!

Im way more interested to see what CD does with TR than just another UC. I feel like CD has a lot more room to evolve their gameplay than ND does with UC.

Tomb Raider. I liked the last TR more than any of the Uncharted games because it was actually fun to play. UC has way better production values and animations but the games have never been fun to actually play.

all i know is uncharted 4 is a true exclusive built from the ground up only on ps4

i dunno wtf tomb raider the games rolling out on 360/xb1 and its timed or something

like i said i dunno what it means microsoft is really good marketing since we dunno if its coming to pc after or ps4 after we just dunno anything all we know is its timed thats it they said they don't own the tomb raider franchise so i guess that means they can go to ps4/pc pretty easily after a period of time

when u make fake exclusives it just pisses everyone off either be an exclusive or don't be one enough with the tricks

gamers like to know if a game is truely exclusive or not at the get go when purchasing products

I'm hyped for neither of those. I can't say anything about the new Tomb Raider series, but Uncharted is not an action adventure in my books. It's a straight TPS series.

I've always felt that games like Zelda, Metroid, Darksiders, Batman Arkham, etc were the kinds of games that fit perfectly in that genre. I could be wrong, but I feel exploration is a necessity in the action adventure game.

Have you played most TPS games? Gears, Vanquish, Mass Effect (mechanics)? They play nothing like Uncharted at least when it comes to character movement. Action adventure TPS then? Yeah, that. They are different games to Zelda and Metroid. Batman Arkham is a beat em up. Like an elaborate evolution on Final Fight and Streets of Rage.

Both will be great games and I really hope TR comes to PS4, but as it stands the more hyped game will be the one people can actually play on their system. For me, even if I could play either, Uncharted 4 would win as it's my favorite series.

Not excited for either. The only difference is that one is exclusive while the other isn't.
