Xbox One Game Pass Adds More To April Lineup

Even more games are on the way.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers have six more games to look forward to on Xbox One this month. Microsoft has announced the lineup for the remainder of April, and it includes some heavy hitters from recent years.

The games include the Prey reboot from Bethesda and Arkane Studios, our game of the year finalistMonster Hunter World, and the co-op zombie shooter Resident Evil 5. If you'd rather kick back with a narrative adventure game, you can play The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, the penultimate season of the Telltale series, or the pretty recently released Life is Strange 2: Episode 2. If all that sounds too stressful and you'd rather just hit the links, you can play The Golf Club 2.

Those join the previously announced offerings for late March and early April, which included The Walking Dead mini episode Michonne, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and Minecraft. Microsoft recently teased six more games would be announced this week.

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that provides full downloads from a catalog of more than 100 games. It costs $10 per month, and all first-party titles from Microsoft are available on release day. The company has also hinted at plans to expand the service to PC.

• April 11 - Prey, The Golf Club 2
• April 18 - Monster Hunter World, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
• April 24 - Life is Strange 2: Episode 2
• April 25 - Resident Evil 5

Some really good stuff added there for sure especially Monster Hunter World which is an awesome game.

RE 5 a game I missed last generation other that not much in terms of new offerings for me. Already an incredible amount of quality though.

Prey & Monster Hunter World are both amazing games, totally worth playing if you have Game Pass and I highly recommended playing both games. I strongly recommend playing Prey on PC cause the KB/M is needed but then again, at least Xbox One now supports KB/M, so there's that.

Thought this was already on PC. Regardless, that's some great content added onto this service.

I'm still a bit annoyed as I wanted prey 2 rather than a reboot. I'll play it on gamepass I suppose that's what gamepass is for.

Cool, loved Prey and last month they added the Vampire action-RPG Vampyr which announced 1M sales earlier. I'm not a GP subscriber but I still keep an eye on it and I like it when some of the more obscure, less advertised games get additional exposure like this, so people who never would have bought them in the first place can now try them out.

Awesome, guess I'll finally dive into Monster Hunter: World and Prey is another one I was curious about.. Good deal..

@robert_sparkes: I know some fans of original Prey hated how Prey 2 has nothing to do with original game but as someone who never played it I think what Prey 2 is by itself is still pretty good

There's a lot of quality to be found on game pass. My worry when it first came about was games being buried on there but they always get found in my experience.

Game pass isn't bad if you don't own any of the games, but if you have even half of them, it seems to be a waste of money. There are a lot of games on there that you can get for like 5 bucks in various sales.

Not interested in gamepass as I like to play games at my leisure.

Meh gamepass wouldnt suck if they didnt remove games after a certain period.

@SecretPolice: But what if I lose my gamepass sub, I can't play any of the games since I don't own them. Plus they never have any good games or 3rd party support. Plus, wouldn't i be better off buying all these games and taking out a personal loan instead of just paying for a year of gamepass?

Just used my app to download some games from the gamepass app.

I'm a bit confused by this post because all the inherent pros and cons of subscription services should be common knowledge at this point.. literally everything you said can be applied to Netflix and Netflix is a insanely popular subscription service..

* If you lose your Netflix sub, you cant watch any of the movies/shows since you don't own them.. yep, that's how subscriptions services work..

* An argument can be made that there aren't any good movies or shows on Netflix.. sure, that's entirely subjective and it's up to the individual..

* Some people would rather buy movies and shows instead of subscribing to Netflix.. yeah, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.. its just comes down to personal preference..

I mean, your entire post could be boiled down to "I don't like subscriptions services".. if so, cool.. I happen to really like subscriptions services.. equally cool..

I don't get people's gripe with gamepass it's a great service. How can anyone complain there's quality titles coming and exclusives day one. Gamers confuse me at times.

If MS/Xbox cured cancer, people would attack that by saying look how many people evil MS/Xbox put out of work. lol :P
