XBOX introduces FPS Boost

Initially with 5 games but they will be releasing more games every couple of weeks. It does not boost resolution just the FPS. Boosts the games to 60fps (Super Lucky's Tale is 120) The initial games are:

UFC 4

Far Cry 4

New Super Lucky's Tale

Sniper Elite 4

Watch Dogs 2

I have Sniper Elite 4 downloaded from Gamepass so I can try this out :D

MS has their BC down. Again, Sony should take notes for those who like BC.

This is most-likely because when the games were first created, the devs went ahead and did like smart programmers do and made them frame-rate independent.

From Software may be great at crafting atmosphere and game play, but programming? Not so much. Here's hoping they've taken what they've learned about cross-platform dev and made some good changes to the engine and their workflow for Elden Ring.

This is awesome of Microsoft. At least they are really trying to offer some serious value for your money with Xbox Series if you aren't a PC gamer.

a 2.1 TV is my next purchase but I am in no big rush for that. My current 4K TV is only 2 years old

Nope. PS4 Pro got an enhancement/patch back in the day that targeted 1080p and 60fps. Xbox One X never did. So PS5 runs that PS4 Pro patch. Xbox Series is still stuck at 30fps, and I believe it's even only 900p... not great

Cool, I actually have both Far Cry 4 and Sniper Elite 4 installed so will be interesting to see the difference. Fc4 also uses auto HDR which is a nice touch.

Now, if they'd please get back to updating the Xbox 360 BC catalog with new titles.

This is a pretty sweet feature ... don't think it'll push me to get one though since I have a decent PC, unless they started giving 360 games this treatment. Gears 2 + 3 at 60 FPS would be pretty nice.

Far cry 4 is the worst in the series.

Let me chime in on a few things. Console gamers never care about better framerates for decades during Xbox 360/PS3/Xbox One/PS4 era until now. Even Phil Spencer knew that console gamers never care for 60fps but at least console gamers are getting more options to choose from this time around.
