@lundy86_4:
I own a PC and a steam deck but am still a cow alt. Shocking!
Fixed that for ya.
Imagine getting called out like that...

Also, why do have a Steam Deck if you have a proper PC? Steam Deck is for those who don't want a desktop PC's.
I work all day on my computer the last thing I wanna do is sit there some more to play video games. Also appreciate you calling me an alt, don’t wanna ruffle your green homies too much hey Dav?
Too bad we have to wait for the incoming failure of Starfield. They're not spending big bucks since its a day 1 Gamepass game.
@masterkiller103: is it better to show it at E3, or have an event dedicated to just Starfield?
Nothing beats a good old E3, if it's the same as the old E3's i'd rather have it on E3 than it being the major showcase of an entire event.
Heard this is the most important game of the generation. Let me know what I can do to help. 🙏
For better or worse, Starfield is that, yes.
Man, what a time to be alive.
I'll no doubt be telling my grandchildren the legend of Starfield.
@ConanTheStoner: I don't think any game will be that important.
But, Starfield will be the game that the industry talks about in the future in regards to "is dev studio X worth Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo buying?"
The first think analysts will say is "Look what happened with Microsoft buying Bethesda and Starfield." - for good or bad.
@dabear:
Interesting. I would think they would evaluate each potential studio acquisition on an individual basis. The way it's happened every time, countless times in this industry.
For example, don't think Nintendo would look to Starfield if they consider acquiring Platinum. Doubt MS looked to EAs acquisition of Bioware when making this deal. Wouldn't really make sense.
And in this case, MS didn't just grab Bethesda the studio. They got Zenimax and its various subsidiaries. Bethesda game studios is only one piece of that pie. And Starfield is only a bite of that slice, they have massive bank IPs like TES and FO in their pocket.
It's a bit silly to act like Starfield is a make or break here lol. There's not going to be some flashpoint event with this deal. Whether it's good or bad, gonna be something that unfolds over years, across various games from various IPs from various studios.
@dabear:
I know you disagree. I'm only pointing out how none of that flows logically.
You're framing it like this is the first studio acquisition the industry has seen, and as if Bethesdas performance with Starfield is somehow indicative of how all future acquisitions will go. It's silly.
-
Again, imagine.
Nintendo President - "Hey guys, so how bout that Platinum Games, amirite?"
Investors - "Holy shit, no way dood, you see what happened with Starfield?!"
-
Here's some hypotheticals for you.
Imagine Starfield absolutely bombs (unlikely), doesn't hit numbers in sales or subs, but the rest of their Zenimax studios make them bank and the next TES is wildly successful to boot.
Conversely, imagine Starfield crushes it big time, massive hit, but the rest of Zenimax turns out to be a dud.
In either case, Starfield isn't the deciding factor for success here.
Obviously MS wants Starfield to be a hit, like no shit lol. You're just exaggerating its importance big time.
@dabear:
Well no, it really doesn't.
It states that Starfield is a big "exclusive" for Xbox, which yeah, no shit. Then goes on to claim Starfield will essentially be the proving ground for Gamepass strategy. An opinion, not one I'm really on board with.
Nothing about being the most important game of the generation. Certainly nothing as silly as Starfield being the measure for all acquisitions going forward, industry wide. < Your claims.
Not going to do your Google footwork.
Fortunately, not necessary. This is basic critical thinking, not something you need an opinion piece to tell you.
Enjoy the brews bro.
Well yeah, I don't put that level of importance on any game lol.
so we shall see who's right in the end.
That's just it though, there's nothing to see. This isn't some movie with a satisfying conclusion. The Zenimax deal is for the long haul. Not gonna be some "aha, told you so!" moment out of Starfield.
Personally I think it will be a big success.
What I don't believe:
- It will be the deciding factor of this acquisitions worth.
- It will weigh on the rest of this industries acquisition choices moving forward. That's an especially weird take lol.
Heck yeah, this is going to be amazing. F this guy though
Xbox Developer_Direct is next week (time flies!) here is a friendly reminder to expect nothing more or less than the 4 games announced, anything else is setting yourself up for disappointment 🙂

Interesting to see how starfield is shaping up and what kind of release dates they announce for Forza.
This is just going to be a behind the scenes and game info dump.
🤣 damage control already!
No release date for Forza is super puzzling. I wonder if they're keeping it for a holiday release? Not really interested in anything else.
Good show.
- Forza Motorsport looked amazing
- Minecraft Legends looks fun
- Hi-Fi Rush looks very intriguing and actually launched tonight
- Red Fall is looking very good
- The Elder Scrolls Online always looks cool

Lol Starfield must be in a poor state if they can’t even show that game off 😂
perhaps you should catch up .. they announced a couple weeks ago that it would have its own showcase because of the size of the game.. but you keep pushing that narrative
RedFall is what i was most interested in and i really like what was shown.. I trust Arkane at this point but it was nice to see a bit more on how the gameplay will flow..
Forza Motorsports looked incredible though I was disappointed in the vague "2023" release date.. it would be nice to have a better idea of what part of the year it's launching into..
HiFi Rush was a cool surprise and i'll be giving that a try asap on Game Pass..
Not really into Minecraft Legends but glad it's there for Minecraft fans and fans of tower defense..
I've been thinking of giving ESO a serious try at some point and i may finally pull the trigger (at some point).. glad to see the steady support.. i really wish they would add cross-play with the PlayStation version..
Overall, a solid showing.. 👍🏽
