Ok. Right now I have the choice of having a 360 or a wii. I have two friends that each have a wii and one friend that has a 360. Im a big super smash bros fan/ final fantasy/ legend of zelda fan but i also like gears of war. Which one should I go with?

Well I would go with the xbox 360 bro, but if you hang out with friends family etc Wii is a fun system. Don't forget xbox 360 will have great games on the way Mass Effect, Halo 3, Halo wars, BioShock and Blue Dragon so many more.
I take it you've played both? Then you should be able to make a decision, especially considering two of your favourites out three are/will be on WIi so Wii
You need to make you own choice it seems you are some way there, and you are lucky to have two friends with both, this puts you in the position to talk to them both and to have a good play of the systems, but it sounds like your half way there, could someones post really persuade you.
if all u care about is shooters and micro softs desprit attempted at japan. go 4 360. but if u want a fun new system go for wii 360 have last gen game play but with better graphics

And if you like party mini-games and Nintendo's desperate attempt to appeal to the elderly or pre teens then go for the Wii. No, seriously though, both are great in different ways. As everyone else has said, if you've played on both already then you should probably know which is your favourite.
Go with the one that has more games you want.But personally,I'd get the Wii.Don't listen to the haters.The Wii's graphics aren't horrible,there aren't just minigame-based games,the Wii-mote isn't a gimmick,and it is a console anyone can enjoy.
This could be really tricky it all depends on what you are looking for in a console
X-Box 360:
The best graphics(currently), great online marketplace, the most stable system at the moment with decent games
Wii:
A unique way to play games, Virtual Console(play old favorites), who doesn't love Nintendo?
I have the 360 and I will get a Wii whenever there is 1 available which wont be for a while because they are selling like hotcakes and videogames are not my life I have females to cater to and I work but you cant go wrong with either 1 you can also consider a PS3 but to me it is just an overpriced 360 and is probably not worth it right now you should wait for the price to go down before you consider a PS3. Wii60 is currently the way to go!!!
Steal them both! (JUST KIDDING) But seriously, look at the library of games now, and the games coming in the future. Do you want to connect your computer to your entertainment system? 360 does that, too. Look at EVERY feature, research EVERY aspect of both systems, then make your desicion. That's what I did. I still want a Wii, though... :?

im an unbiased cow and i say 360, the wii ist even a proper console if you ask me. but its fun with freinds

IMO Get a Wii now, and wait for the pricedrop or fuller featured versions of the Xbox 360 later.
