XBOX 360 sells 75.9M units!

well at least we got the official number from lemmings camp. if sony releases the number...im pretty sure its not the end all argument. lemmings will find something like they did when sony announced its numbers. ps2 is part of the data, ms numbers came out a month before, it probably sold 2mil etc..... there will never be an end to this until the ps4 new xbox comes out

It's called Sony shipped out a whole lot of PS3s to stores around the world that bought them from Sony and that's how it happened. I know it's hard to believe and accept, because America buys 360 more, but nowhere else do people buy 360 more.

some of you guys are a bunch of console scrubs, winning a console war is not about omg i sold more then you i win, its more about profit, even though companies are going to turn this around and say sony won because it sold more, in the end 360 is more profitable in hardware, in software, and in services such as xbox live, if i were a devision owner this gen, i would be more happy with 360 then with ps3's profits

Well it seems Sony is first loser in terms of the console race (second loser if you count PC).

Fanboys asides those are good numbers. IIRC the Xbox sold around 25M. So that is a good increase.

While it's one thing that the 360 came in last considering how much marketshare Microsoft, gained and how much Sony lost I would say they made out just fine.

Those aren't official numbers from Sony. 2) These are shipped numbers. Not sold to customer numbers. Eventually the PS3 will catch the XBox 360, but it's irrelevant. The Next-Generation has already started. The PS3 is no longer dominate is the largest region in the world. (USA).

With 360s early failure rates I have no doubt PS3 surpassed 360 users 2+ years ago.

For hardware sales, if its already happened or happens sometimes in the next couple years it makes no difference. The result despite inflated rebuy numbers and the full advertising power of MS is (or will be) still, for two generations in a row, last.

MS had the biggest advantage they will ever have with a year head start and Sonys self-imposed difficulties. If they couldnt do it with that, what chance do they really have with the upcoming iterations?

Oh and the guys saying PS3s sales are estimated or projections if you look at that report from MS and put your little curser over it what does it say?

360 had a problem with bricking consoles... PS3 had a console with more to it like Blu-ray, card reader, BC, recharging controller, HDD and Wi-Fi witch understandably made it cost more. Hardly the same problem.

Remember, MS had a year with no HD Console competitor for consumers to run too, a year advantage to fix problems and solidify their position in the market. You can honestly tell me that if not for the year we would even be talking about this?

I know all the butthurt fanboys will cry, but the 360 is currently about 1.5 million units sold (to consumers) ahead of the ps3.  Don't worry cows, by the end of the year, Sony will be ahead by at least the same amount.
