Well now that XBO backwards compatibility has just been announced and we know that there will be no charge for games that we already own on the 360 is it safe to say that PS+ officially sucks in comparison?
might be better because u get to play xbox 360 games but what makes PS NOW is we get to play ps3 and ps2 and PS1 games
they are chances sony will counter this issue too with like if you PS3 Retail Disc = Free Game Download or you can play on PS4 without problems due PS4 is now easier to modify than PS3 teh Cell issue
This isn't a "full" BC. They said "select titles", put in the game "download" the copy then play it on your Xbox one. This is emulation. Nothing different than what we saw Sony do on PS3 before they dumped it for ps now. My guess is the original disc will still have to be used..sort of like for the boot.ini or something, this also verifies you have the disc. I'm not getting excited until we hear more. Sadly though, this was the highlight of the conference.
It's cool news I guess but I still have a 360.
I guess I never really understood gamers hunger for backwards compatibility. Just keep your old consoles and you never have to worry.
Well, when you have a conference that meh, I guess anything is a victory. Hey, at least the XBone has games now.
Meh? Yeah, to an Xbox hating PS fanboy! lol We seen 3 new first party IP's, Halo 5, Forza 6, Fable Legends and Tomb Raider not to mention the new customizable XBO elite controller! Troll?
Destroys PS+. Hopefully Sony has a counter with free PS Now and free streaming for games you own physical or digital. If not then Sony got served.
Know what is better than backwards compatibility?
Having games this gen.
I'm in the same boat. I haven't played a last gen game since i crossed over. Why would i want to? I mean, it's great for those that do, but it's not something i ever cared about.

Yeah that part underwhelmed as well. More titles will be added as the gen goes on. Full BC would have been a huge kick in the balls to Sony and their PS Now.
Pretty underwhelming conference overall.

Plenty of big exclusives games here the way I see it. So tell me Shew what does the PS4 have to compare that isn't indie?
Halo 5
Forza 6
Fable Legends
Tomb Raider
Scalebound
Crackdown 3
Phantam Dust
Quantum Break
ReCore (new IP)
Sea of Thieves (new IP)
Gears of War 4

With input lag and at a lowered visual fidelity, and for an extra cost.
Proper backwards compatibility will always be better than some crapula streaming service that relies heavily on your internet and charges you again to play the games you already own.
You mean PS Now? But in any case, It's only if developers approve it, so it's not like you have instant access to all of the games. And I think you have to download the games too, even if you have it on disk. Kinda weird.
Love that BC still makes so many people act like total asshats on the forums. You can have both, guys. Your idea that the gaming industry can't have the equivalent of walking and chewing gum at the same time simply doesn't fly in a neat little place the rest of us live in, it's called reality. #DealWithIt
I might use it to replay Tales of Vesperia if that game hits the "list" but damn, if I really wanted to play 360 games that bad that I would tout it as some kind of victory for E3 in place of actual stuff to be excited about I'd buy a 360 instead.
One lame conference down, Sony's is next :/

Kinda defeats the point of buying a next gen system if all you want is to play old games. Still have my ps3 and an N64.

Less junk on our entertainment centers. Not everyone is some oddball collector with a whole room dedicated to gaming with three TVs and a dozen consoles set up in it.

lol my bad.
That's a decent start, I don't have my Xbox 360 anymore (was going to replace it but now I might not have to) but I still own the digital rights to quite a few games. Will be glad to play both the Toy Soldier games again. Have Defense Grid as well (have the 2nd game for the XBO too, still need to play). Surprised Small Arms made the list.
If anything, it should be compared to PSNow.
Correct. I never downloaded PSNow and I don't plan to. I have a PS3 that will play all PS1 and PS2 games, so I don't really need PSNow. Sony can suck it for trying to milk their fanbase by paying for older games again when they already own them. I'd rather own the disks.

No you don't. You just put your disk in and play. Or you can download the game from the disk and play the game. All your digital games will automatically carry over from XBox 360 to XB1. Neither of these things you can do on the PS4.
