KODI just got released as a UWP platform available in the Xbox store. This is big. It not only adds to the media capabilities, but with add-ons, can potentially break the walled garden. Playstation Vue on Xbox One? It's now possible. It's still early yet, and not all aspects of KODI are functional, but this could be a large boon for Xbox One as an all-in-one entertainment source. Sony and Nintendo need to step up and bring this to their systems.

@Pedro: It was originally made for the first Xbox (XBox Media Center-XBMC) and was later adapted to just about everywhere and renamed Kodi.

@Pedro: kodi basically can be programmed to give you thousands of free movies/tv shows/porn and sports for free.

Kodi is the reason android boxes are popular today.

And to think that I recently bought an Amazon Firestick just for this......>_>

Will give it a try on windows 10.

Ever heard of Xbox Media Center (XBMC)? That's the original name. It's a media juggernaut that also has streaming, which can stream just about everything....legal and otherwise.

That's pretty cool. I have Kodi on my PC already but it would be nice to have it on ps4 as well. Good move Microsoft. I highly doubt ps4 will ever get it as Sony wants people to use vue.

This is good news! Is it capable to use Xfinity App on it, so I don't have to wait for an App?

I'm not sure what all add-ons are working, but the developers at Kodi are working with the authors to get what they can functional. It'll probably be faster than native app support.

At the moment, it can only access the music/video folders and not an external drive or the BD drive, the rest is add-on dependant. It's a start though.

I’ve been using this on my PC and Mac for a long time now. Nice that Xbox owners are finally getting it. It would be nice for Sony and Nintendo to get this as well.

I don’t see it selling Xbone’s though, the main reason people buy consoles is for games. An Amazon Fire Stick is still cheaper than buying an Xbone to watch movies and if MS keeps forgetting games they’ll keep losing.

While this move isn't for "sales" it will actually save money for some folks.

I've installed Kodi with free shit for so many friends who go out of their way to buy an android box because they don't want to connect their PC/Tablet to their TV.

Those who already have an Xbox and want to get into Kodi can save a few bucks now, it's a nice move.

Yea it's definitely a nice move. Hopefully Sony and Nintendo copy MS' lead in this area. PS3 was great as a media box but it seems Sony totally dropped the ball in that regard this gen.

Right now, it's limited to NFS:// shares, but they're working to expand it.

I had an issue with showbox arize addon. Actually, I was facing no stream available error. I tried many methods to solve it and one worked for me. here is it. Fix no stream available error - https://www.myshowboxapk.com/install-showbox-for-kodi/. Many users are reporting about this issue so I thought to post it here.

One box to rule them all. I'm using IPTV on Kodi to stream 9000 channels from around the world (Thai Cock fighting channel wouldn't go down too well here..).

Having problems filling the epg data up though....anyone?
