Doom and Wolfenstein got ported, how hard is to do it for some sports games?

They could just reskin a PS2 version for some quick cash, but that would imply that 3rd party games sell on a Nintendo.

1. The last few WWE and EA Sports games have been a joke, same as the companies that publish them.

2. Super Bomberman R is one of the top selling Switch games. Bethesda admitted to Skyrim selling well and Fallout Shelter doing well. AND even indies are doing well on the platform.

I can see Madden selling decent, that's too bad.

Also nobody on this forum talks about sports games, but they are going to use this to fuel their fires anyway.

Who didn't see this coming? Switch isn't powerful enough to run 3rd party games and Nintendo fans won't buy anything that doesn't have Mario, Link or Pikachu in it.

Meh. I’m sure that there’ll be some people who are disappointed with these games passing by the Switch this year they won’t be missed on my end.

They said the same about Skyrim VR.

But my point is about the annual sports games. Like you said, they are crap, but they still sell so why not make annual versions for it?

Considering how badly WWE 2K18 went on Switch, I would consider this a mercy. But, yup. Indies ahoy at Switch on the horizon.

umm .....switch never got madden. even its launch year when it was outselling the PS4 in some months.

WWE was a flop and it now skipping switch. i'll give you that. that sucks. the port ran like shit though. their fault.
although i heard it might still come out but will be a late port.

---

however fifa19 is coming which means EA turned a profit on fifa18.

also nba2k19 is coming which means 2k also turned a profit on 2k18.

also rbi baseball18 came out this year because rbi baseball17 from last year also turned a profit.

--

same as wiiU?

i think not.

@Ant_17: Have you seen WWE 2K18? It's shit and the most laughed at job ever done! They ported the game within a week and left it unpolished! The engine is old as last gen consoles and even the current WWE game suck compared to the classics like WWF No Mercy on the N64 or SmackDown: Just Bring It on the PS2.

Bullshit! Wolfenstein was a highly demanding game for the Switch and managed to get ported over. WWE 2K18 and the new WWE 2K19 is run by a very old engine since last gen, and was ported to the switch in less than a week. 2K Games is responsible for doing such a botched job that caused an uproar and refunds for wrestling fans.

WWE Here Comes The Pain(2003) was the last quality wrestling game.

I tried that WWE 2K18(PS4) and it was god awful. Just Bring It(2001) is way better.

Yeah, the current WWE games are shit, and still plagued with bugs, even on the PS4 and Xbox One. The engine they use is old and they keep adding new things in it that also causes it to break the game. I wish the Switch would get something like Day of Reckoning or at least a new Fire Pro Wrestling game instead.

I guess that explains WWE not getting a port.

Not sure why EA would skip, since FIFA is coming.

EA hates Nintendo since the NES, but yes, EA not making Madden on the Switch is confusing as I know plenty of NFL athletes that own a Switch.

Potentially a completely different market. Plus any ports they make are gonna be by-and-large shit, then they'll act shocked with poor sales.

I'd be more worried if third-parties left in floods and indies said **** it. In terms of a Nintendo console, third-party has been pretty damn good.

Pretty much! 2K can blame low sales, but the blame is on them for making a bad product. If 3rd parties are making a profit, then they have no reason to leave.

And also runs at 360p at times with sub 30fps and is generally disgusting blurry and looks like shit........ So I wouldn't use that as an example of a port.

I remember Smackdown 2 on PS1 and how excited I was when they added to ability to have a TLC match and put people through tables.

Good times.

Eh... not entirely true. I'd say at least some of the PS2 Smackdown games were mechanically better.

I worship No Mercy like everyone else but if you actually fire up the old 64 and give it a whirl today, it doesn't hold up to it's nostalgia.

Modern wrestling blows and so do those 2K wrestling games.

Considering how horrible WWE2K18 was, I'm not surprised it's being skipped. But EA's never been a strong supporter of the Switch so I'm not surprised by no Madden either. I just have to laugh whenever EA doesn't support a system with their sports games, because they did support the N-Gage after all...

All I can say, if Switch manages to sell more than expected in a couple years, and EA still isn't supporting the Switch, it shows how irrelevant EA is to the gaming industry and how they're not an important 3rd party publisher to support.

EA are using their Frostbite Engine for pretty much everything now.

And Frostbite does not work with Switch because Switch is not powerful enough.

Switch doesn't fit in to their requirements as a viable platform that supports their software.

And that is EA's fault?

EA are not the best company, not by a long shot but sheep need to wake up and understand that the hardware choices Nintendo made are making developers abandon Switch or causing them to think how they support the platform.

If Switch was as powerful as Xbone/Ps4 it would more then likely be getting everything from EA.

No it won't. Madden didn't even sell a million on the Wii, and that had an install base of 101 million people. Honestly EA games suck. Only reason people buy them is because "OMG! Big generic shooter! Flavor of the month!" and "Well even though we hate you, you're the only one who makes sports games aside from NBA 2K, who only makes basketball games." The only game they actually had a great idea for is Sims, but even then they treat Sims games like garbage with the DLC and not putting in features that the fanbase actually wants. Of course the Sims fanbase still buys them because who else has a game like that on the level of Sims?
