Poll: Will you ever finish your backlog? (48 votes)

Yes - it's attainable, it's within my grasp. 23%
Hell no, it's impossible at this point. 77%

So many great games coming out, but I'm still trying to finish games from last year and before. It may come to the point where I have to accept that it just won't happen lol. I've opted to do a mix of backlog and new. What do you think, SW? Will you be able to catch up on your backlog?

No, I doubt I will ever truly finish my backlog. It grows faster than I can actually complete, or even play games.

I have 204 unfinished games. 96 of them, I haven't even touched at all.

Hah. Pretty certain that would be a "no."

Yes. I don't have games I've bought but never played. I have some I've bought and played for only a little while, but these are games that I didn't like. So I don't intend to play them anymore, let alone finish them.

I really dont even have time to pay attention to new titles.

AND I am retiring at age 51 and STILL will not have time in my life to consume all the games I am already aware of

I don't have much of a backlog. Like, a few games.

I'll probably never even get to play quite a large part of my backlog of games. I went ahead of myself.I have about 20 or so games I haven't touched yet,all digital on my X1.

I stopped caring about my back log about 5 years ago. It made me see games as a chore. I buy much less now and don’t buy anything else until I finish what I’ve started.

I only buy new games when i finish the ones i'm playing, so i can't say i have an huge backlog.

That said, there are already over 100 current gen games i want to play and have yet to buy. This generation has been insane when it comes to quantity and quality!

Well I wouldn’t say that it’s unobtainable however I would have to stop buying any new games for a couple of years and that most likely will never happen. So I guess I’d go with a probable “no”. I don’t really care all that much about having a backlog though as I just play whatever I feel like at the time and if I get around to it then I get around to it.

It does seem less and less likely each year.

I don't buy that many games a year, so the answer is yes!

For the PC? Probably. For the PS3 backlog? Probably not once I get rid of the PS3. Its games will go with it.

as a side note the games I like to play typically have around 1000 hours of replayablity before you master it.

I have around 20 such games so that is about 20 years part time.

On PC, with over like 100 games I got from Steam sales over the years, on origin like maybe 20 games on there, and even on GoG 21, my backlog will never ever disappeared because I keep on buying newer games :(

But hey, life of a PC gamer right? Plus, I kinda keep replaying the same games over again and it keeps me from clearing up my backlog of games.

no. im sort of putting in a rule that i just need to give the game a good shot before i can knock it off the list. none of this finishing it nonsense....unless i actually want to finish it of course ( i rarely finish games :S).

that just makes it a bit less daunting though.

Only 5 bought games to go:

*Currently playing* Tokyo Xanadu EX+

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Alien Isolation

Hollow Knight

The Witcher 3

Then again I remember that at the beginning of last year I also had like five games on my backlog and The Witcher 3 is the only one that still is on the list so it seems to be a war that will never end, since for example FFXII The Zodiac Age comes out on Thursday, so most probably another one for the backlog. I also have like a dozen of free games that seem interesting on Steam/GOG/Uplay/Origin.

Hell no.

I have ~350 games and I'm sure I haven't even touched 1/3 of those.

Not to mention the 200+ games on my Steam wishlist.

Plus every now and then I get the urge to REplay games :o

Yes. I am slowly chipping away at it.

Down to 40-50 games on PS4.

15 on PS3.

10 or so on PS1

And then a handful divided between every console that ever existed lol

I'll always chip away at it, but I always get new games that further push back other games. I have over 1000 physical games.

Right now Im playing:

Castlevania Lords of Shadow

Shadow of Mordor (Not really liking it, so I might just stop playing)

Yakuza 3

Haven't started but want to:

Zone of Enders HD Collection

Yakuza 4

Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2

Coming out soon that I WILL PLAY and finish:

God of War PS4

Yakuza 6

Games I have and might go back to:

Persona 5 (not really diggin it)

Yes, I just need to stop putting all my gaming time into online FPS.

Which isn't going to happen.

No :( I did make a spreadsheet this year with games I have to beat though aha. So far, its looking pretty good. Maybe if I can make one every year until I die, I can finish like half of my backlog.

To suggest that one "finishes" their backlog is to misunderstand its very nature.

I won't even come close. Hell, I hardly find time to play the games I actually enjoy.
