People, my self included, love Platinum but I rarely see anyone talking about Mad World.

I think it's easily my favourite P* game. Hyper violent, outrageous, hilarious and gameplay was fantastic.

As it was a Wii exclusive it didn't get the visibility it deserved but I really wish Nintendo and/or Platinum should bring it back.

How alone am I in this?

(I know there was a spin off, but not a true sequel at all.)

I thought it was pretty boring personally...

The idea was great; racking up points by finding creative ways to dispatch of enemies but the the means of which you did it was a little slow and not very exciting. Maybe I missed something but there just didn't seem to be a whole lot to the combat.

I'd prefer a sequel to The Wonderful 101.

For a Platinum Game, its action part was surprisingly lacking. It's fun, but it was no Bayonetta or Vanquish.

I think the whole premise of blood sport with tons of environmental kills, unique art style, interesting bosses, and hilarious commentators were good, but yeah, it's no Bayo. Supposedly Anarchy Reigns made the combat a bit better, but I never played it.

I had the game, but got bored with it after just a few hours. Very repetitive. I'd welcome one that is way better though.

@phbz: I think a sequel would be a good opportunity to explore the concept further, for sure. There's lots of untapped potential in there but for me, the first game didn't fully realize it.

MadWorld had that Sin City feel and it was like I was playing Quentin Tarantino game for that matter which was good, because I like Sin City & love Tarantino. MadWorld was a cool game on Wii but nothing to brag about it other then I like it but a sequel never came through my mind.

I really loved the art style, but the gameplay was very disappointing.

I guess the motion controls didn't made a lot fans when it comes to the gameplay. Maybe?

Anyway I'm ok with changes being made to the gameplay I just want a second one!

There are a lot of games we will never see squeals to. Variety in the game industry is dying.

@phbz: I don't think it was the motion controls. They were largely inconsequential. It's just the variety is lacking. The player doesn't have a huge range of moves to work with and the environmental kills run dry in variation rather quickly too.

@jumpaction: I don't know, I just flew through the game. Definitely got more "bored" going through the first Bayo then Mad World (not as deep I know). Combat felt really impactful and visceral and sound and visuals made for a cohesive experience. But judging by the reactions here I guess there's really not a big chance of a sequel ever happening.

@phbz:Maybe not but who knows. I definitely feel there is potential worth exploring there. Action games like Bayonetta are usually more about the combat mechanics and the enemy you are fighting; Madworld made the environment an integral part of the action which is unique from other Platinum Games titles.

Anarchy Reigns was something of a spiritual sequel to Madworld. Have you tried that game?

@jumpaction: No, I might be made mistaken but isn't it an online game? I'm not much of an online gamer, specially when it's sequel to more traditional offline I always think it's a easy way to milk a game. Might be unfair of me to feel that way but I can't get past that initial judgement. Have you played it?

@phbz: It has a single-player component also. I don't know if the game is good though. I never played it, personally. :(

I think it's pretty cheap now to buy though, if you're curious.

I love platinum games, I didn't really get into Madworld so much though. Its cool to know someone loved it mind.

I'd love a sequel to God Hand myself.

Gameplay was shallow and can get old after a while but I had fun with it.

What I really like about it are the duels/bosses. They were really fun to fight and there are a good amount. I would try a sequel.

It's a bit of a niche title. The black and white graphics were courageous and artistic but it must have hurt sales.

I would have said no a few years ago, but now that No More Heroes is making what looks to be a glorious comeback, AND now that Platinum is owned by Nintendo, I'd be willing to bet that Mad World 2 is a possibility, although I wouldn't be surprised if they wait and see how NMH does first since they're similar in tone, style and gameplay.
