after watching some more videos of it, i'm losing interest in it... its nice for the wii to have original titles, but this doesn't appeal to me all that much.. i certainly wouldn't pay full price for it atleast
I think EVERYONE wants Sonic back on form. I love Nintendo characters but they really need some competition from else where. You'd think Naughty Dog would have done that, but they sell on franchises.
Only the last 2 3D Sonic games have been bad. Sonic for 360 and PS3, and Shadow the Hedgehog were all terrible, but other than that the series is fine. Sonic Heroes was a good game, and so were Sonic Adventure 1&2 (and the Gamecube remakes). Sonic Rush was great and so was Sonic Mega Collection. Riders was bad, but it was a spin-of, so it shouldn't count. People act like two bad games in such a long and beloved series is going to kill everything. Sonic is not going anywhere, because people will still buy the games and they have been good for the most part. I have faith that this game will be good.
Of course its been dead, for a while and the 360/ps3 version killed the series further. Hopefully the Wii installment succeeds and will further own against Click_Clock for saying that the 360 version is superior than the wii because of the graphics!!!
Don't ask me for a link, but someone developing said they are going back to the basics of making the level as if it were a race to the finish. Very very very very very very very very fast.

because all his games suck these days. quite a simple reason id say.
but on topic, i think the secret rings is overhyped. Only the new Sonic and Shadow sucked. People are acting like there was never such a thing as a good 3D Sonic game.
Hopefully it will be a rebirth but chances are overwhelming that it will flop with its previous track record. I'm hopeful though. I want Sonic to be good wait great like on the Genesis. I just took out my Genesis and now I have an all new appreciation for Sonic. I never thought he was as good as Mario back in the day but now that I go back I believe he is on Par with Mario in the 16 bit era and Sonic 1 coming out in 1991 was a huge game.
I can't say I'm impressed with any sonic game recently. The last sonic game i played and enjoyed was Sonic 3D for the PC. I'm gonna say this game will be another POS but it won't stop sega from ruining the franchise even more.
if I'm not mistaken sonic games tend to sell well no matter how bad they are technically. So I highly doubt this will be the last sonic game Sega puts out.
It's about time that they made a new Sonic game. This one looks like it has everything going for it. It looks good, it plays smoothly, the camera issue is fixed, instead of being completely linear the levels have multiple paths you can take (like the Genesis Sonics, remember?), and most importantly, the focus is on SONIC and ONLY SONIC. On top of that, it's being done by a different development team from the one that did the awful 360/PS3 Sonic the Hedgehog (link). I have high hopes for this game.
Thats the million dollar question, isn't it? I honestly have no idea what it will be. I know that it can't possibly be worse then the 360 or PS3 versions....I hope...
I wish deep inside that Sega could develop a good Sonic, but after the last game all hope was lost. If I want to experience him the way he is meant to be experienced I will have to dig out and dust off the Genesis. :(
