Will The Old Hunters solidify Bloodborne as GOTY?

In my opinion this is still the most refreshing game of the generation. It deserves all of the recognition it gets. I think this DLC will solidify that. How about you, SW? Do you think so?

I think the marketing for it betrayed how good it was. It came off as a short disjointed game with not much to offer but in fact has some of the best gameplay in any game ever. I haven't beaten it yet but I'd say it's game of the of the year because it has the best gameplay mechanics. It gives Mario Galaxy level of control, just a pure joy to move the character around.

My character really felt like some holy man of God hunting down the wild beasts of some unknown scourge, the boss fights actually feel like a real life fight. You better move and you better be smart. They should have shown how fast and frantic the fights get, nothing really comes close imo.

I've heard people say of the soul games that every encounter is the same, dodge then swing, this game is not like that at all. The battles are incredibly dynamic and each scenario requires intelligence. You can be loaded with health vials, good weapons and stat boosts but none of that matters if you **** up, you can die in seconds with one stupid move.

fallout 4 is goty period.

Didn't Sony already do that?

It'll have to share that honor with MGS5:TPP and The Witcher 3 surely, though I no doubt bet it was at least way better than that Witcher garbage without that expansion.

this one or MGS5 are goty contended[ due having small technical problems] witcher 3 problem are bad but fixed but on fallout 4[its bethseda technically 55% problems will be shown[past games problems]

I got me a copy for free to give as a gift. I think Splatoon, Majoras Mask, or Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate should be GOTY though.

"Most refreshing og the generation"? How? I played it with different tweaks in every Souls game before it. Witcher 3 was more enjoyable imo. And the DLC will be reviewed sedperately so it doesn't factor into the release getting goty.

Whilst I enjoyed Bloodborne a lot and if I didn't have a ps4, I would have been more than happy to get one just to play Bloodborne, I don't think it's GOTY material.

Gonna get that DLC, but TW3 robbed GOTY from everyone already. There's no way it won't be the game of the year.

Eh not true, you ever listen to say like a giantbomb goty podcast, the dlc additions, the adjustments, expansions can play a role. Especially if they feel the DLC is definitely worth the spin.

In the case of The Witcher 3 it's one thing they released a game people found bitchin to be as long as they did, and they got a dope expansion, and said expansion adds whole new characters that from my understanding might actually be better than the ones in the main game (and main game isn't a slouch in this department). I would argue why wouldn't you reward it for it.

For context: I love MGSV, but if you're debating those games, one fact somewhat remains: The Witcher 3 got better over the course of the year, MGSV got more stupid because Konami wanted to add car insurance to that shit.

On topic: Don't know if it'll give it the edge it needs, but Bloodborne was damn good, enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than I enjoyed some other stuff from this year. Wouldn't exactly be against that game winning.

It's a Masterpiece as it is now. Getting better for a Masterpiece only leads it to be a Masterpiece yet again...

As for Fallout4, in it state now, it's not even a GOTY contender, for me!!!

i really love the gameplay of Bloodborne, but content-wise it doesn't come even near Dark Souls, wich was really disappointing imo. it felt more straight-forward rather than open-RPG (yes, i know that even Souls' are not THAT open, but this is even less). while i treasure that game, i think Witcher 3 will grab the GotY this year.

Bloodborne is a dark horse at best. MGS5, Witcher 3, or Fallout 4 are the best bets. My vote is for the Witcher 3.

It's my GOTY. I have not played MGSV or Fallout 4(duh), but Bloodborne is a much better game than TW3 imo.

bloodborne isn't getting GOTY. MGS, The witcher, Tomb raider, Halo 5 are all above it. I think MGS will probably win out

@StrongBlackVine: Its just the rumor i heard from a Gamespot employee, im not sure how serious they were. They were talking about GOTY and contenders and they stated Journey was one a lot of employees liked at GOTY. But yeah, a remaster winning would be a joke of a pick.
