Will Call Of Duty Ghosts get ripped apart?

Unsurprisingly, early impressions coming in suggest a SP that is pretty much the same thing and only 4 hours long.

Given the huge price tag of the game and the lack of anything new to the table and the incredibly short single player, should Call Of Duty get ripped apart in gamespots not paid for review that is totally legit?

Many of us here on system wars really loved Batman: Arkham Origins. That was more of the same, with a 20-30 hour SP as well as multiplayer. Yet it was a 6 floppy floppy. Deemed a huge piece of shit.

If gamespot scored COD: Ghosts anything above a 6 should we rage and cry hypocrisy and stuff?

Reviewers are probably enjoying a review party at the cost of Activision as we speak, I doubt it'll get bad scores.

Yup, if Batman Arkham Origins had a launch party or luxury weekend like Activision does every year, you would see it would have way higher scores.

I love Jim Sterlings critique and praise of the gaming industry in his weekly jimquisition. Do you think he would go to a launch event like this ?

No. Although Jim Sterling likes to make out he's anti-corporate and attacked Batman: Arkham Origins because it was a different developer.

Chances are though he will probably rate Call Of Duty highly because it's "fun" and "good at what it's supposed to be".

Well, the games ain't bad... but they should not be getting 9s each year when other games get downrated for being more of the same. That's just double standards.

Yeah, I know he's not unbiased. But I still like his opinion very much and I don't think anyone can be 100% unbiased :)

There are two main reasons why I believe Ghosts will get ripped apart.

1) Most people dont know whether to buy it now on current gen or next gen leaving people only buying it on one console splitting the fan-base by a lot.

2) Call Of Duties fan base is now packed with little 8 year old kids winging every time they die screaming out 'HACKERRRRRR!' constantly.

I will probably get it on the 360 and One.

Yes, it should. And No, Batman: AO should not have scored higher. I am pretty glad to see that Gamespot using the full scale of 10 to rate the games. 6 is not a bad score at all. It just shows us that we shouldn´t have high expectations.

Batman Arkham Origins shouldn't have got a 6 for being more of the same it should have been given a 6 because it was nowhere near as well designed as City or Asylum. The only good thing about it was the story.

Superior design. Example: Automatically continues when dead.

It ain't breaking GTA's records,that's for sure.Both sales and scores wise.

I still hate GS for saying that MW3 SP was around 6 hours long, when it took me 4 hours to finish, and I'm not that good in the game.

Also, MW3 was really awful, both SP and MP, so that's what is keeping me from preordering Ghosts. If I feel it is similar, in any way, to the awfulness of MW3, then I'm getting something else... or nothing until something good is released.

You will buy Call of Duty: Ghosts regardless of what score it gets.

@freedomfreak: Ok. I asked because Tesco's usually do a special on CoD. If you purchase CoD with a Points Card the Game is £25. If they do the deal with the WiiU i may pick it up as it is quite a fun game to play 2x players with one using the Controller and one using the Gamepad.

Every COD game comes out and makes like a billion dollars in a month, then everyone on the internet gets in line to rail on it like crazy and say how much they hate COD and aren't buying it blah blah blah. Which is funny because if all gamers hate COD so much then why does it sell so huge every year? That's easy, because the majority of people who hate it actually love it but they want to be cool online in front of a bunch of strangers so they jump on the bandwagon of hating it so random internet strangers will think they are cool, but then they run out and buy the game because they like playing it.

It should but I doubt it. Reviewers always give COD a free pass for being the same rehashed bullshit every year.

I think it will be just fine. After playing through Farcry3 i like a more linear, shorter, exciting experience...

If the rumors of the SP being 4hours or so are true, I may rethink buying the game. I like the multiplayer, but I'm a fan of the crazy single player for CoD. Hope thats not true.

@freedomfreak: £40 is quite cheap. I dont know what will be my next purchase. Deus Ex looks alright and it is only £30 New on WiiU.. I never got around to play it on the 360.

I've actually heard from the leaks that it's even worse than Black Ops 2. I couldn't even finish the Black Ops 2 campaign because it was so by-the-numbers and boring. At least Battlefield 4 attempted to make the game feel more like multiplayer and gave you a lot more freedom in the levels, even if the end result was a pretty medicore experience.

The Modern Warfare series at least was a lot of fun to play. They were ridiculous and over-the-top but I never felt that they stopped you and slowed the pace down as much as Black Ops 1 and 2 did. I hate these modern shooters that force you into some scripted "stealth" sequence and stop you constantly from playing.

Finally someone who agrees about the BLOPS campaigns vs MW campaigns. Never understood why people thought the BLOPS campaigns were better. The MW campaigns are fun for what they are, basically an over the top michael bay-esque action movie

Comparing a game thats all about its sp like Arkham to COD which is all about it's multi. I guarantee you that the average Ghosts buyer spends more time playing Ghosts than the average Arkham Origins buyer spends playing Origins. In fact many Ghosts owners will spend more time playing Ghosts than owners of both Origins and City play those two games combined.

Ghosts has new mp modes, new coop mode Extinction and much more in depth soldier creation.

Ghosts will introduce new dynamic map events to the franchise. Map events vary from level to level, from player triggered traps to map-changing events that allow gamers to strategically redirect the action and transform the map to deliver new levels of strategy and gameplay

It wll get an 8 by Chris because he wants to be unbiased. Then he will never play the game again and instead play BF4 for the coming two years.

COD Ghosts is the flagship multiplatform game for the next-gen, there's no way it will score less than a 9.

Killzone Shadowfall looks to be the best fps of this fall by quite some distance...
