Will 2020 go down as one of the best years in gaming?

2020 is looking mighty good, SW. The first half alone is stacked with games like Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Doom Eternal. There's also Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Watch Dogs 3, and even the Animal Crossings game. And in the second half we will be seeing the launch of next gen with the PS5 and Xbox One 2. Going to be an amazing year, me thinks. But will it be one of the best ever? Let me know your thoughts!

But seriously though, I've seen enough sky-high hype let-downs to caution against predicting the future of such things.

- Halo: Infinite

- Cyberpunk 2077

- Final Fantasy 7 Remake

- Guilty Gear

- Doom Eternal

Then there are some possible games like:

- Metroid Prime 4

- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

since Doom Eternal coming in 2020 so i can say it might be best year this gen.

i mean we have Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying light 2, Xiii remake, Halo infinite etc. so it can turn out something special.

I don't feel it will be any better than 2013 when PS4 came out... or even 2006 when PS3 came out. It's another launch year. There will be a couple good games to end the generation and the launch of new tech. Happens every cycle.

2020 looks very promising indeed with the new consoles coming and AAA titles such as Cyberpunk and TLOU. My money is on Cyberpunk becoming GOTY or maybe even Persona 5 R.

Last year i saw this same thread. 2019 to be the best and turned out to be a flop. Seems to be a trend these days. Not saying 2020 cant be good with PS5 coming out with who knows what... we will see. What we know so far, Cyberpunk to me does not look that good and TLOU2 is just another multiplayerless movie game by Sony... their king SJW game. No Thx.

beside 2020 is important for me since it has Doom Eternal and i want Cyberpunk to be good because it remind me of Deus Ex, my fav game of all time. first person cyberpunk theme FPS/RPG hybrid.

Now that you mention it. But (non nintendo) launch lineups tend to be more flash than substance, so second half will probably be less good.

2020 is looking damn good.

Off the top of my head you've got Animal Crossing, the Breath of the Wild sequel, Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, Xenoblade Chronicles Remastered, Tokyo Mirage Sessions and No More Heroes 3.

We still don't know about Shin Megami Tensei V, Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4 or Pikmin just yet.

lol... no, not based off the games you listed. Also, most of the game you listed aren't very high on my radar.. a few of them not at all. Cyberpunk is the only one I am slightly interested in and being stuck in first person is likely a deal breaker for me.

Now, it could be really good though, because I'm sure there are several launch games we don't know about yet.

come on, its the year that give us one of the best single player FPS of this gen that is Metro Exodus. its long, engaging and deep story driven game.

and also RDR2 PC the superior version.

No one counts RDR2 as a 2019 game as its not, and Metro Exodus being the best FPS is like Tetris being the best puzzle game as in no one cares.

I never said its best FPS. i said its one of the best story driven FPS this gen. its no Half life or Doom or STALKER but on its own its great.

RDR2 count as 2019 game as its 2019 PC release. just like original splinter cell release year later on PC. its nothing new.

Off the charts for Xbox. My X1X is gonna be working overtime on those games, unannounced games and my freakin' backlog.

Will of the Wisps and TLoU2 are coming out within like a week+ of each other. Can't speak for the rest of the year, but February's going to be one hell of a month.

I’m also pretty hyped for both Xenoblade Chronicles and Tokyo Mirage Sessions remasters. Loved both those games the first time around and am looking forward to playing the spruced up Switch versions.

RDR2 released in October 2018, so its a 2018 game no matter how long it takes the laster race to get it, those are the facts, you even admitted it by saying what's in bold lol.

Oh yea, I forgot about the Xenoblade Chronicles remaster. Yet another RPG to play next year. As for Tokyo Mirage Sessions, I started playing that on the Wii U this year. Will probably just play that version.
