I guess consoles are too weak to run space games. Console gamers mostly don´t like hardcore and skilled games. Too weak or too complex gameplay?
I list some space games screenshots(each screenshot from different game)

I'm a PC gamer mostly these days, but consoles did have Mass Effect. Does that not count or something?
Well im talking about space games where you flying with space ship, shoot ships and stuff like that, not only be in planet but planet is in space.

Well, if it helps, Affordable Space Adventures, Space Pioneer, and Infinity Runner are all coming to Wii U, and all this year as well.
Enjoy.

360 also got Darkstar one, which was originally a PC game. it went to 360 with full HD and it was sort of a space trading sim / shooter, though ultimately a bit shit.
It is a genre I wish consoles had more of.
If you like the look of any of the games he posted, i urge you to give strike suit zero a try. the screenshot i posted is crap (best i could find and possibly from the PC version). The game looks awesome on XB1 / PS4, the level i am upto now features a massive representation of jupiter and its moons, super good looking. check it out below (this is PC gameplay) also note that you can play with cockpit view throughout.
I'm sure most people here have played Strike Suite Zero. It's been like 4 bucks on Steam on several occasions. If you think that's fun I urge you to try a PC space sim because SSZ is a dumbed down, repetitive version of its non indie PC exclusive counterparts, see elite dangerous.
Your Caesar suggests you beg harder for a port of Vanquish. A hardcore game, set in space, that destroys any pc space game in terms of difficulty.
Pc gaming is pretty casual, so highly unlikely most pc citizens would dare attempt it.
Carry on, casual citizen.

lol, this joke gets worse and worse
@melonfarmerz: spoken like a true PC elitist.
I dont play on PC, (though i used to around the time of xwing etc) nor am i under the illusion that SSZ is anything other than a shooter set in space. like i said above, i wish there were more space games on consoles.
What? I was simply letting you know that if you like that type of game, there's better games out there for you to enjoy. From my experience, even when SSZ was a PC exclusive, it was never that fun.

Vanquish is an extremely easy shooter that takes place in space. Nothing to do with the topic. Honestly, Halo is far superior to any game on Playstation if you want to talk space shooters.
And come on now man. We all know the target demographic of MS and Sony is the casual gamer who wants nothing but COD and FIFA

Vanquish and hardcore? I played this game on PS3 and it was easy. Take cover, wait and shoot. Lame.
PC gaming and casual? You clearly never played PC games

So are you going to continue ignoring evidence of space games I posted in this thread?
That's due to control complexity, not hardware limitations.
that said, Elite was on Nes, Wing Commander was on 16bit platforms, PS1 had Colony Wars trilogy, Rogue Leader was amazing on Game Cube, and so on.
I would love to see the return of space combat games on consoles, though.

Well sadly those are small indie games. How about big space games? No, im not ignoring.

The PC games are technically 'small indie games' too (Star Citizen notwithstanding).
Star Fox is on consoles. /thread
Lol. You mean this
You know, I never took you to be a fucking idiot.
He's clearly talking about full space combat/commerce sims like Privateer and Elite.
Space ships sims need alot of buttons to control all the functions. If they don't need alot of buttons and have a simplified interface, they are casual space shooters and hence junk. Hence, the very act of making a space sim playable on consoles turns the game into junk.
I don't necessarily agree with this reasoning, Darkstar One was pretty fun (though I played it on pc) but I can't think of any other games in that vein on consoles. Was there ever a Privateer or Elite (SNES version doesn't count) on consoles?
I would freaking kill for an open ended single player space sim like that. None of that Eve time wasting crap, just me taking on a gigantic galaxy as a miner, pirate hunter, pirate, soldier, or whatever. Tie it in to a Dark Souls type multiplayer and it would be freaking amazing.

The amount is stupid in this post is off the charts.
Although
it does not involve spaceship battles, I would like to mention Dead Space 3, I loved the space scenes in that game, I had great fun fun maneuvering in space with my suit, felt like a true simulation, and I had not seen anything like that in any other game, except maybe Dead Space2
Holy shit that looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie. Which game is it?

Star Citizen is about the most indie game of all indie games, no hedge fund investors and no publisher. Don't get much more independent than that.
Though the budget will probably be $55 million (it could be more if they have another November sale like last year) by the end of the year ;)
It has nothing to do with power or how "hardcore" people are. Blind fanboyism leads you to make ridiculously ignorant claims like that.
Anyways space flight/sim games in general are pretty damn niche. Sure Star Citizen has 43 million in funding but less than 500k backers which puts the average spent on the game at about $86. This shows that those people are passionate about a game but there aren't necessarily a whole lot of them.
Generally if a dev is going to make a game they need to examine the markets to find where the game is demanded. Space flight/sim games have not really been on consoles ever. Barring some titles like Star Fox or Star Wars Rouge Squadron, which aren't really the same as something like Freelancer, Freespace, or Elite, the vast majority of the market for those games exists on the PC. Why would any dev try to build one of these games on the PC when the small group of people who demand those games already exist on the PC?
No logic in that.

Bold statement buddy. Maybe we just prefer a controller over a mouse and keyboard?
No that can't be it. We don't like "skilled" games. Who says that?

Actually i'd bet a lot of people want to play these space games with something other than a keyboard
Just ignore FreedomFreeLife, he's still upset that Kinect Rivals sucked and the X1 is losing
RTS and Space Sims are not very console friendly genres . Some random space games mentioned above are either mostly poor ports from PC version or just arcady space shooters and not real Space Sims .
@FreedomFreeLife :
You should change the title from "Space Games" to "Space Sims" , since lot of people are not getting it and writing about games that are not related to genre about which you are talking about .
