Why the hype for Gears of War?????

Now i'm not denying how good it looks, frankly it's mind blowing but what i am concerned about is the gameplay. Epic is a very talented developer that can make great games but its mindset if firmly fixed in that of multiplayer games. If you look at Epic's track record their sinlge player games fall short of their mulitplayer Tournament games, observe:

Single Player

Unreal (Pc) - 8.4,   Unreal 2 The Awakening (Pc) - 7.9, Unreal 2 The Awakening (Xbox) - 6.1, Unreal 2 The Awakening Special Edition (Pc) 7.9

Multiplayer

Unreal Tournament (Pc) - 9.5, Unreal Tournament (PS2) - 8.2, Unreal Tournament (DC) - 9.4, Unreal Tournament 2003 (PC) - 8.8, Unreal Championship (xbox) - 8.5, Unreal Championship 2 The liandri Conflict (Xbox) - 9.0, Unreal Tournament 2004 (PC) - 9.4

As we can see Epic can achive good single player games and Great multiplayer games. So I predict that GOW will be a game that looks like a great game but will merely play like a good one, Epic is stuck in a recurring mindset of churning out fantastic games built for online.

Technically we haven't seen much on Gears of War. The demos have strict limitations (even God mode) only a very small percentage of the title has been in display. Heck some people still go by the same E3 build from last may.

I really don't see why any lemming shouldn't be excited. These reasons are no different from any hyped PS3 title...

I was a little dissapointed in Gears Of War, but it was still a great game, with amazing graphics, plenty of weapons, and awesome music. It was waaaay to short though, which is why I was slightly disappointing.

gears of war doesnt look appealing to me.Dont even try and say it will be better than mgs4

On a side note stop calling it GoW of any other form of gow.That is reserved for a great game on the great ps2 (God of War)

First of all mgs 4 is not even out yet and gears is considered a killer app.

And second of all. I find it kinda annoying when people type gow couse i don't know which one. But in my eyes gears has earnedgod of war's abbreviation. God of war is great though, the sequel is even better.
