We have the option of CHOICE.....

We as hermits spend on hardware what we want to, we can pick from thousands of hardware configuations and can buy the hardware that suits any budget.

If you want to spend £200 on a PC then go and spend £200 on a PC, if you have a £1000 to drop on one then go for it..

But if you consolites want a next generation console you guys HAVE to pay whatever Sony and Microsoft charge...

You want a PS4 next year and Sony release it at £400-500? Guess what, if you want it, if you have your heart set on it hen you HAVE to pay it....

Not a problem for us Hermits :D

That is all....

Meh, I mainly use my PC to play free to play games. The last PC game I bought was Starcraft 2. Its just my personal taste that I prefer consoles, but its just my opinion.

Making choices is stressful and take a lot of effort. Chess is a game with tons of choices. It's hard. Not having to choose is relaxing.

PCs are also much more reliable; I never had a problem with the hardware apart from consoles. I'm on my 3rd PS3 now. The number of hours that my PC was running must be sitting at hundreds of thousands, used it for all sorts of things; Internet browsing, gaming, work, editing, etc and the PC still works.

With consoles, you have 2 years and that's it, you'll have to buy another console. That makes PC gaming much cheaper and hassle-free.

Admit it, consoles are very unreliable. Over the years of experience since the PS1, they're awfully unreliable unlike PCs.

SaltyMeatballs

I'm pretty sure that a £200 PC can run games at low settings with 30-35fps and would still look better than consoles.

So consolites, care to explain why you think consoles are cheaper?

Maybe it would look better, but not by a whole lot. 1080p would be a good thing but that isn't factored into the price of £200. Honestly a £200 PC is NOT worth the money as it would be quickly outdated.

PC gaming IS expensive and I hate when people downplay that. It's more hardware expensive than consoles by far, but the thing is I don't find it a waste of money. If you do then that would explian why some people don't game on PC. it's not for them. But PC gaming IS for me and I don't need to justify the prices, it's well worth it IMO.

A couple of reasons:-

  • Console games are priced higher.
  • Console hardware are usually unreliable, so you'd be spending money on replacement consoles every 2 years.

Therefore, if you look at it for the long run, PC gaming is nicer for your wallet.

I don't know if you can get a decent gaming PC at that price if you take used part out of the disscusion, but for roughly 563$ (349£) you can get adecent one.

That's £349 and the PS3 is currently £200. Isn't it crazy? It goes to show that console gaming is a much more expensive hobby.

PS3 barely run games at steady 30fps and the graphics isn't on par with PC, and you have to pay £200 for that piece of hardware that will break down after 2 years?

Insane.

I would question how often you use it. I used mine A LOT (before I started PC gaming), and my PS3s just kept breaking down.

My PC surely clocked much more hours than my PS3s because of different purposes such as Internet browsing, gaming, work and editing, my hardware is basically switched on 24/7 and it still works.

I choose console. I just don't care to spend $26,000 on a game machine.Heirren

I can max any game that comes out and my PC costs £400. I will be able to play games that looke better than consoles for years to come.

Dat ass.

You gotta shake things up, and bounce back in place with beautiful female sigs, otherwise Salty's female ass signature is gonna steal your place.

Eh, he can have it :P I've been here for a long time and I've only participated once in the awards. Also, shaky ass gifs aren't my thing :P

I'm pretty sure that a £200 PC can run games at low settings with 30-35fps and would still look better than consoles.

So consolites, care to explain why you think consoles are cheaper?

GamerwillzPS

Maybe it would look better, but not by a whole lot. 1080p would be a good thing but that isn't factored into the price of £200. Honestly a £200 PC is NOT worth the money as it would be quickly outdated.

PC gaming IS expensive and I hate when people downplay that. It's more hardware expensive than consoles by far, but the thing is I don't find it a waste of money. If you do then that would explian why some people don't game on PC. it's not for them. But PC gaming IS for me and I don't need to justify the prices, it's well worth it IMO.

PC gaming is not more expensive than console gaming.

A couple of reasons:-

  • Console games are priced higher.
  • Console hardware are usually unreliable, so you'd be spending money on replacement consoles every 2 years.

Therefore, if you look at it for the long run, PC gaming is nicer for your wallet.

No, PC gaming IS more expensive if you have even a half decent setup. There is no two ways about it. It does cost quite a bit of money to game on PC properly and the only reason you would think it's too much is if you can't justify the purchase. I can however so it's not a waste of money to me. PC gaming is better suited to me than consoles.

Also PC hardware can be just as unreliable, except buying separate parts gives better warranties. Every PC gamer knows how expensive it is and I don't know why people keep trying to say otherwise. However console gamers saying it costs 2000 every 2 years are also exaggerating a great deal.

[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]Every 2 years? Good grief...sonic1564

I still have my first 360 up and running for more than two years from 2010. Still have no problems with it other than the disk tray.

Disc tray? On PC, just take it out and spend £18 for a new one. On 360, buy a whole new console for £180 just for the sake of a disc tray!

See what I mean?

Nah, freedomfreak has more class than that. His sigs are tasteful and not only about the girl but the composition of the shots and the style of the shots are much more elegant. MOst guys here have lame female sigs that just show T&A without trying. We could all do that if we wanted. But it's tacky.

Freedomfreak will always have the best female sigs to me because they leave more to the imagination and aren't in your face nudity
