why no love for just cause 2? (56k warning)

just me, or is there an extreme lack of just cause 2 talk in the forums? i know the first wasnt that great, but theyve had plenty of time to make the sequel not suck. anyways, i find this game to have some of the better graphics on the pc (havent tried a console demo if there is one). i know people will run in and say it doesnt look like crysis, but the scale of this game is staggering, and it still manages to look pretty decent. anyways, here are a few pics of the pc demo, maxed out with 4xaa on my computer. sorry about the sizes, i dont know how to link them smaller,lol.

I'm excited enough about it that I have the game preordered. Loved the 1st on PS2 & I'm sure I'll love this one as well, so a great purchase for me.

I played the demo and found it sort of underwhelming

its a rental at best

its not exclusive, who cares

Just played the demo on PS3 (turned out PC version requires Vista or 7). At first I was a bit thrown off because it uses the god awful quincunx anti-aliasing and also it didn't explain the controls well, but once I got into it, it seemed like fun. The fighting is over the top, you can eat a s..tload of bullets without blinking, but it's OK, the movement is fun, because of the grappling hook and the parachute, and it definitely gives you the freedom you'd expect from a sandbox game - I grappled on a chopper and also managed to land a two mile parachute jump on a moving car :) (almost accidentally). Seems like MUST CHECK :) for sandbox fans.

Played the demo and I'm worried it could get old fast (ie. very gimmicky) but it's hard to tell without any solid missions etc. to play.

Is it just me or is the voice acting amazingly awful?

In a world of GoW3, Alan Wake, Final Fantasy, Halo Reach I would say Just Cause 2 is getting fairly decent hype. Most people on this forum look like they had a good time with the demo.

I didn't take this game seriously and I absolutely hated it.

Because I played the first one.

It's very fun to destroy things and traveling around the island is a blast (The grappling hook integration with movement is BRILLIANT), but the actual enemies and combat still suck. I'm betting on a 7-7.5 score.

The guns feel like BB guns when you shoot them.

Definitely more polished than the first one.

I'm getting it.

Not really my cup of tea. I imagine it'd make a good Spiderman game. That's what the game reminds me of..... Spiderman with guns which kind of sounds good to me.

It looks good and sounds ok too. Its the bad gameplay that kills it. Grappling hook is fun.

It just feal's like its lacking polish. And no faction mechanic, you get swamped with evreything the second you do anything wrong etc.

I was not so sure after first playing it, but after playing through it a few more times I became hooked. The sky is really the limit and it is only as fun as you make it. You are given a beautiful sandbox with varied locations and all of the tools, weapons and vehicles you could ask for. Tell me that having this kind of freedom to complete a mission is not made of win:

I was really excited for it, until I played the demo. The gameplay is really spotty and does not flow at all. It takes no skill to shoot someone because theres massive auto aim on this game. The only way you die is from the way the enemies cheaply spawn out of nowhere right behind you, or when some wierd glitch happens.

also,

The draw distance(from wich you can view everything) is absolute crap. When driving you can see the grass appearing out of thin air only 40 feet infront of you(keep in mind i set all the settings to highest possible). Also, the controls are frusurating. Whenever I move my mouse, there is a huge half a second lag until I turn(keep in mind i tryed putting down all the settings and it didn't make a difference)

Giantbomb will rate this wayyy too high, lol. Ryan and Brad are Just Cause fanboys.
