Why are people praising the Xbox Series X?

It seems like a useless system that people applaud from far away and nobody buys it themselves.

Folks this system isn't horizontal its another fat big bulky system just like the original xbox one.

They didn't make it sleek they didn't put much effort into the design. Its literally a rectangle.

This isn't good dude they didnt listen to feedbadck sony gonna put out a beast that prolly will be stronger and look better again. we just did this we just did this.

And look at the name XBOX ONE X Is arleady out little timmy and his mom are gonna say we want the xbox x and guess what they'll get the ORIGINAL XBOX ONE X not the x series. The name is wiiu level disaster nobodys talking about this crap.

This is over the game they had hellblade whatever is crap too. Its no fable or something people wanted. Nobody cares about hellblade.

It's just new gen anticipation. Its not that serious, let people be excited.

Ugh, it's been reported you can sit it in horizontal and the design is awesome for it's cooling system. Any PC gamer can appreciate Mini ITX cases.

While it's true the name "Series" isn't inspiring but nowhere near as bad as Wii U's name in that regards. MS went with the Series for a reason. Other then that, I agree with this statement about the name is poor but not the worst I seen so far.

And yet, Hellblade 2 is being made, so it seems the first one did well to warrant a sequel after all and if that wasn't the case, we'd wouldn't be getting Hellblade 2.

Original Xbox was also big and ugly compared to the competition (IMO). It was also awesome.

Form factor from an aesthetic point is in the eyes of the beholder and should be far down the list in important qualities for a box that sits on a shelf in the first place.

Form factor from a functional design point is important. X360 and RROD is a good example of spectacular failure. In this case, it is reasonable to presume that the form factor was chosen in part to facilitate good things like cooling and clock speed.

Nobody can buy the system at this point so what can they do but applaud it?

Please link us to all this feedback and the exact wording of what the console should be? From what we're being told its powerful, compact, plays games from any Xbox gen. That was all asked for on user voice forums.

Nobody cares about Hellblade, a game that won many awards and received well critically which is typically what people on this forum do care about.

Wow you must really hate PC gaming if that is true. I am the opposite I would never buy that console and much rather game on PC even one less powerful then that console because I prefer the experience of PC gaming,(note I don't hate consoles I just much prefer PC's for gaming). But to each their own, game on what you like. I know I will.

Strange design, builds in cases like the Dan SFX or Ghost S1 are miles smaller and obliterate it with potential specs.

Only thing I somewhat agree with is the name. It's pretty awful.

Regarding the name, MS has stated it's solely going to be known as Xbox, and the "Series X" simply refers to potential upcoming SKUs. Linky.

At this point, I think we all know by now when we talk about old school Xbox, we'll say OG Xbox and Xbox is next-gen Xbox. Kinda interesting to see how the media reacts to this now.

I only agree with OP about the name. It seriously terrible, equally as bad as Wii U. However, the design is sleek and the box itself sound really good spec-wise. If I weren;t interested in PS5 or has a PC I'b be interested.
